Some one keyed my girls car

Not lightning related but I need to get it off my chest.
My girl drives to the train station everyday, parks, and takes the subway to work. The parking is difficult in the area and there is this one Jackazz that puts a cone in front of their house to block a spot. So there is no parking last week and my girl moves the cone, parks, comes home to her car with a big azz key mark on the passenger rear 1/4 panel. She is pissed, I am pissed because I have to hear her and I help buy the car, it is 6 month old 2003 black Honda accord. Anyway no witnesses so not much we can do. So yesterday being a typical dumb women that never learns a lesson, she moves the cone again and parks there. She goes out with friends and gets back to her car at 11:30pm, wakes my azz up crying that they f%$cked her car up again. She calls the cops and now I have to drive 40 minutes to go make sure she is ok and to deal with the cops. What a wasted trip, the cops can not do anything except take the cones, and I go to knock on the door and they basically said if I do it they will probably have to arrest me for something stupid. Now my girl says she knows whose car usually parks there, but I am hesitant to do something because she could be mistaken and that would be just F'ed up.

So I am trying to plan my revenge. My thoughts were:
1. say F'it and throw a brick through there windshield and front window of there house.
2. maybe a more civil way. We live in a community where everyone knows everyone and everyone reads the Local newspaper. So I am thinking of taking pictures of the cones , parking spot, and house. Finding our who lives there and post a big azz article blowing up there spot.
3. Park my girls car there again, wait for them to come back to do it again, and then introduce them to my friend Louisville slugger.

Oh yeah, on top of that I did not get home until 2:30 am and I had to bring my truck back to Ford this morning at 7:30 am to make sure I get to work on time.
Does anyone know if you would have to paint the whole 1/4 panel or it there any other way to deal with key marks?

Sorry needed to vent.
Thanks

The best thing to do is try to calm down and let it go. You run the risk of making a bad problem a lot worse.

If you want some justice, park her car there again, wait for them to come back to do it again, and get some pictures of them. Even so, it doesn't prove they did it the other two times.

Too bad she didn't learn from the first time. I'd be really upset with my wife if she did it the second time.

Good Luck

Take it from someone with experience:

You will need ALL the panels completely refinished AND repainted. If the key gouges are deep enough, it'll need some minor body work to fill in the line.

Be sure after they paint it, that the inside of the doors are buffed out as well - if you go to trade in the car, it's the first thing they look for.

It sux, and I feel for ya. I had a brand new 1999 Maxima keyed end-to-end only weeks after I bought it. g-damn f'ers in the apt complex I was in, just cooulnt handle there was a new car in the lot, parked away form everyone else. I left that place right after the incident.

park her car in the same spot & get a friend that has a camera with a telephoto lens!

Take pics of them fscking with the car, call the cops & have them arrested.

Take them to court & make them pay for the whole car to be repainted.

I like Cloneteks' idea. If you get them on video, game over. Also sounds like I'd find another G/F. After she went back the second time, it's like WTF was she thinking. I never would've moved the cone in the first place.

Like everyone else said, I'd try to get some concrete evidence of who did it--video preferably.

Maybe look into a new g/f? I know I sure as hell wouldn't have parked there again after the first time it got keyed.

Hopefully her deductable isn't too high if you can't take whoever did it to court.

I like the idea with the pictures, we did that in college b/c someone was putting stickers that said "princess" and "drama queen" and rainbows (as in gay pride) on my buddy's truck with some sort of adhersive that screwed up his paintjob. We got pictures but they were just some middle school kids on their way home from school. We showed them the pics and said stay away or we go to the cops. They didn't so we went to the cops and they said well kids will be kids... and gave these kids a warning not to do it anymore. They did it again, so we staked them out this time with paintball guns and lit them up. They couldn't tell anyone who did it b/c they would have to admit to vandalizing his truck again. That was fun, I miss college.

I too like the idea about taking pictures and making sure they are good shots of their face. Once the pictures have been taken the bat idea sounds like a good plan as well…

If they whine in court about you and your bat just play stupid. ”Gee judge you can see by the pictures they were perfectly fine when we left, perhaps they got caught keying someone else’s car later…”

I think a multi-person sting is in order. Still camera & video required. Park again, setup shop and make sure they are able to be ID'd from the tape. Use a tri-pod to keep things steady in the dim light. Use a NEW tape for the highest quality. Go to the police first, then call the local news stations to report an 'evil parking gang' in your neighborhood. Get them some TV time so everyone knows what a jackarse they are!

I had my car keyed at the store parking lot by a ex girlfriend and the cops couldn't do anything with her as I did not have someone that saw her do it...She saw me drive the car for 2 years before I got the whole car painted...

This is one very low mean person I would love to see get caught on video...

As for your girlfriend...she was upset and reacted...just it was not the best way to solve this issue...The person with the key in their hand was who caused this to be a problem for you both, not her...

Do not do anything to threaten this guy...likely he will have a witness that will help put you in jail or let him sue you...If you do anything do so so he gets caught hurting your car again...like caught on video or a police stake out...

Remember....Revenge is a meal better eaten cold...Don't you get hurt or in trouble...get even in the right way...good luck...

Why was she parking in front of somebody elses house in the first place? If parking is tight I would not want some 'tourist' taking my spot either. Tell her to engage her brain and park somewhere else.
Oh, I don't key cars in my parking spot but you would need to get some air for your tires.

It's a friggen public street! I don't give a hoot if they live there or not. That was their choice to live in an area with limited parking. The street is not included in your rent or house payment. Boo-hoo, someone parked in front of my house... tough!
