My power probably would have gone out by now.

Our neighborhood always seems the be the first (or only) in this area to lose power during the heavier storms.

We havent started tornado season just yet...

Yikes, We lived in Texas for 1½ years and the closest tornado to us was 18 miles away, thank God!! We did have some killer hail though and awesome thunderstorms. Hope you make it through the night in one piece!

Right now its so dark out 9:00a.m. here in Wis that the street light s came on, it looks like its 5:30 in the dead of winter right now. Were watching on the radar here at work and it looks like we have about ten minutes until we get hit with the worst part of the storm. We are supposed to get large hail and high winds. I asked if I put my truck in the garage

I think around 10 years ago there was one that hit the town center here. That's not even 5 miles away from my house. One of the cars that was in the parking lot ended up thrown into the 2nd story wall of the building, you could see it sticking out when you drove by. One of the far ends of the building had no wall left and you could see wires and stuff hanging all over the place.

One of my old teachers also got hit by one, her house was basically destroyed.

So, let me get this straight, you were under a TORNADO WARNING (meaning that a Tornado has either been spotted by trained ground personnel and/or a WSR-88D perched high above the rooftops has indicated a bow echo (along with other signatures) and you're sitting at the computer communicating this information?

Is it just me or should you have been thinking about a sturdy area within your structure near the center of the house or maybe the basement?

People only loose their lives when they disrespect mother nature.
