Wife Bought New 2005 Escape

She decided the 2002 Cougar was too small (although she liked the handling on the twisties), so she decided on a new 2005 Escape.

Now, I have read some reviews and this thing seems to be rated pretty highly, even compared to the foreign "Cute-Utes."

Anyone have experience with escapes.

I like it because I can actually get in it, unlike the Cougar.

A fellow employee at the company i work for drives a Cougar, she has had alot of problems with it, constantly in the shop.
Not to mention was not on Fords manufacturing line very long before it was discontinued.
I think you made a good choice.

My wife has an 02 Escape XLT. It has all the bells and whistles. She absolutely loves the thing. Not a problem with it yet. I'm a pretty large sized guy and I fit in it with relative ease. Damn nice little SUV if you ask me. And it gets around 22mpg around town with the V-6.

My G got rid of her Honda Accord which she hated very much and picked up an '03 Escape fully loaded. We drove all of the similar types of small suvs and this was the best. In the year and 6 months of owning it she has 38,000 miles. The only problems so far were the rear door keeps making creaking noises and both front wheel bearings went bad but were dealer replaced. Oh and the AC doesn't blow out cold enough in the summer. Other than that she absolutely loves it.

Yep, my wife has an '04 Escape XLT V-6, and we have been impressed with the ride quality, etc. thus far.

I convinced my mom to trade her explorer in for an Escape, but I also told her to wait until the hybrid comes out. She does a lot of driving and 40mpg in a small SUV sounds perfect for her.

I was looking on the Ford website and they stated they were only planning 20,000 Escape Hybreds and had about 30,000 people asking for them.

With gas prices the way they are, I think Ford could make quite a bit of money mass producing the Hybrid Escape.

Escapes are nice, I heard a rumor about one with a diesel that has the same tow rating as the Explorer and gets 40 mpg!
