Hey. My friend and I have a bet. Survey: Has anyone out there met their wife or husband at a bar?

Edit: My buddy and I can't sit and stare at the forum forever you know. Does anybody know someone who has?? Does anyone have an opinion on this? My friend says you only pickup women at bars for one reason and it's not for anything long term.

 

Actually I did. I was working afternoons at the time and tried to pick up my wife's friend first and got shot down. An hour later met my wife. Been married 27 years.

 

Working afternoons? Did you work at the bar?

 

Nope...Worked till midnight in a Ford plant and stopped at a place near my house that had a mechanical bull and all that. She's pretty much a non-drinker too which makes it more unusual.

 

Met my wife at a bar, now have two kids and a great life, my wife is great and treats me well. The bar had a volleyball league and that is how we met, we ended up on the same team.

Not all women you meet at the bar are easy. I guess it depends on what type of bar you frequent. If she is a local and you here ya she was in here last week and was drunk and so and so took her home, then you know what type of person she is. If you see her in there and she is not getting loaded and not a regular, you can tell as well. Also look at how she dresses, you know the saying if it looks like a w**re and walks like a w**re then use her as a w**re.

I stumbled in ***** faced with a Burger King hat on. As I passed her, she asked where are my fries. She bought me a couple of drinks that I did not need. I asked her for her phone number and she says, why don't you give me yours. I tell her that I do not know it...but to hold on, someone in the bar might know it. I had just moved, did not tell her this and she thought - great we have a winner here. I came back to her and told that nobody in the bar knew it....so she gives me a wrong #.

At closing she took me to a deserted reservior in her Mazda Miata and "raped" me. I tried to call her the next day and found that it was a wrong #. I finally found her in the book and called her up (which she thought was sweet). I was just trying to get some more action. We have been married 11 years and have two boys, a 2yr old and a 4 month old.

If it were not for that DAMN bar......I could actually go to one. Go Figure!

I think you have the potential to meet your future/current wife anywhere.

People generally think that you only meet ONS in bars, and it's quite possible to did meet a one night stand that blossomed into a relationship. I mean really, who goes to a bar thinking "I'm going to meet my wife today", that only happens to Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting.

I'm interesed to know how many met your respective others at the grocery store.

 

Met my wife outside a college dorm after being at a bar.... does that count? LOL!
