Busch Gardens, Va.

Anybody from up around Williamsburg, Va. know the name of a motel within walking distance of Busch Gardens? Closest I can find on the internet is about 2 miles away.
ALSO, I was told only one free beer per day at the Brewery tour. True or False? (got my priorities straight don't I?)

Thumbs up

The Marriott at Kingsmill is closest and it's not in walking distance. There are none in walking distance. Busch Gardens has huge parking lots around their huge park and they want their 5 or 7 dollars for parking. The first place you come to is the parking attendant and they wouldn't know what to do with you if you came walking up without a car.

If you don't want your car tied up all day they do have a drop off, I guess that works for taxis too.

1) The brewery tour is air conditioned. Wear glasses and a jacket.
First time thru line, glasses plus jacket.
Second trip, lose glasses.
Third trip, no jacket.
Fourth trip, walk with a limp.
Fifth trip, get in lane 3 and say "Raoul sent me"

2) Leave. Go ride Loch Ness Monster.

3) Return and repeat '1' above.

I checked.

Courtyard by Marriott
470 Mclaws Cir
Williamsburg, VA
(757)221-0700

They would probably want you to use their (1-888-235-2427) number for reservations.

They are the closest major motel. There may be a mom and pop operation that I'm not aware of. The Marriott would be about two miles from Busch at most.

Another thing, you aren't going to be in any shape to walk back to your hotel after a day at Busch Gardens anyway. You'll be lucky to crawl back to your car.

Damn Raoul, you're better than a travel agent. I'll check with the Marriott tonight. Thanks.
If you're ever in Charlotte,NC (why would anyone come here?) I'll be happy to setup the tour.

They used to give two beers when I lived there...just do what I did, go with friends that don't drink, worked to my benefit

While in the area, take note of many other local attractions that should not be missed.
Colonial Williamsburg itself is a wonderful trip, then there is Jamestown, and Carters Grove Plantation.
You will have a choice of restaurants like you have never dreamed of.
We usually spend a day or two there on our yearly pilgrimage to Cape Hatteras. Only thing I don't care for is the traffic patterns in some areas. But then again I am a Hillbilly and don't like congested areas.

Thanks Marc, don't know the Carter's Grove tour, might look into it. We are going to try to do the Norfolk harbour tour also if time permits. Haven't done it in years, but enjoyed it then.

Two beers eh JD? I'll try to latch on to some non-drinkers prior to entering the Brewery.

The first time I ever rode a roller coaster was the Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens. It's a really nice place!
