Test Drove the 300C
My wife and I just test drove the new Chrysler 300C and we were impressed. We are in the market for a large performance sedan and I think we may have found it.
I think I freaked out the salesman when, upon leaving the dealer lot, I reached over, turned off the ESP, then mashed the pedal to the firewall and left two nice long black streaks (probably 10 ft. or so) up the street! What was really cool, though, was that when it was my wife's turn to drive, she did exactly the same thing! :-)
This thing runs strong. It's a big sedan that handles great, is very roomy and comfortable, has a cool 380 watt stereo, and according to C&D, will run to 60 in just a little over 5 seconds on its way to a high 13 sec. quarter mile. It's also relatively economical with 18/25 EPA numbers.
I've read the 300C road tests in Road & Track, Automobile, Motor Trend, the Orlando Sentinel and the below example from Car & Driver and they all love it. Wish Ford had something close to it but since they don't, it looks like this bad boy may be snuggling up next to the L in our garage one of these days soon.
