Hippies

I went and met up with a friend the other night. We met over in Berkeley. We decided to get something to eat and go to the movies, so I left my truck there. So after the night was over, I got back to my truck and some hippie left me a note.

"Gas Guzzlers Pollute America - the cause a demand for more oil and increase global warming"

You know, I drove a nissan around for the longest time and hated it. Now I have a truck that I want, the way I want, and people just give you shiz. Screw off you dirty Berkeley hippie!!
I was just glad it wasn't messed with because I've heard of those hippies messing with large V-8 trucks/SUVs on the dealer lots.

The hippies (socialist liberal environmental wackos) have it all wrong. We the gas guzzling owners should be getting some kind of award for our deep care about mother earth.

We spend more money per mile taking care and helping mother earth. Here is how I see it and how we are MORE environmental friendly then any wacko from the left. Mother earth is HURTING real bad right now, she has this HUGE toxic waste spill, otherwise known as “oil reserves” deep within here bowels.

We the gas guzzling drivers we are, and spending BIG MONEY in the process are helping to rid mother earth of this huge toxic waste spill. The more gas we buy and use then the more toxic waste that has to be pumped out of mother earth.

It is a win-win situation, we are doing are part and are the MOST environmentally friendly people on earth.

Tell that to a socialist liberal environmental wacko next time and see what they say. If they give you some stupid excuse of there is no such thing as a huge toxic waste spill (oil in the earths bowels) then just tell them:

“Cool, next time I change my oil I will pour the old oil in my back yard”…

That screws them up EVERY time…

I also tell them if I ever catch anybody touching my truck or even looking at it funny I will club them like a baby seal…

Lmao. If I ever run into one of these people, (not many of them around here, but in Buckhead or Atlanta) I will tell them "so I'm just a slightly bigger hypocrite than you are?" Unless they walk or ride a bicycle to work, their arguement holds no water whatsoever. But then again, they are probably Kerry voters. (dazed and confused)

Environmentalists are like watermelons. Green on the outside, red on the inside!

I work in a scientific research lab, the amount of platic, paper and other disposables we use every day is close to obscene, not to mention the radioactive isotopes and hazardous chemicals we use all the time (some ends up down the drain and lot gets gassed off into the fume hoods and into the air outside). You can't do this job and even think you are a little "green". One of these ignorant, fantasy land, liberal (b/c it's hip) grad students the other day was complaining about gas guzzling vehicles and made an offhand comment about my truck. Well I asked her if she would prefer to wash out the disposable plastic ware b/c it would be much more enviromentally friendly and that she should reuse her gloves (they were covered in corrosive chemicals). She still tries to rag on me so I just told her that incinerating all the crap she uses on a regular basis by using the easy disposable version of things (instead of, god forbid, the reuseable glass alternatives) produces a hell of a lot more pollution than my truck ever will. I then asked if she would like me to stop ordering the platic tubes and we could all use the old glass ones in the cabinet, but that we need to take the time to wash them out after we are done. She shut up then. By the way, her damn escort leaks a quart of oil every week, she just puts more in instead of getting it fixed. At least my oil stays in my truck and gets disposed of when it needs to be, her's runs right out of her car into the ground. Stupid hypocrites. It is easy to take the moral highground and to believe in your idealistic naieve ideas when they don't inconvienence you. Sorry for the rant.

I know several people that just finished taking a class on global warming, and part of the class project was to 'Green-Up Campus'. So some of the undergrads - that still don't get it - put signs in the computer lab saying how much energy and money would be saved by turning the computers off at night, turn off the lights when noone is in the computer lab, and another put up the results of his informal survey of SUV drivers and the use of SUVs on his trip to campus for a week.

Then I had to burst their bubble by informing them that the surges of power when computers are turned on, and the heat cycles of powering up and down do more to shorten the life span of the hardware then just leaving them on.

I then told them that it takes more energy to turn on a flourescent light than it does for it to run for half an hour (apparenlty they haven't got to physics yet).

For the SUV survey I had to correct his number from 5L vehicles that get 10 MPG to 5.4L that gets 14 MPG. I haven't got to talk the person that did the survey to tell them that emissions are different than fuel economy. Most new SUVs have better emissions than most of the piece of crap, rusted out, oil leaking, muffler missing, I hope my car starts today POSs you see on campus.

As an environemntal consultant, I agree w/ fatman - disposable is the only way to go - and all that stuff that I send to the landfill, I consider job security
