Another BS lawsuit...

http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/04/18/co....ap/index.html

When can people start assuming responsibility. I think if anyone is to blame here, other than the idiot that got drunk and got behind the wheel, it's his mother for not being a better mother, and teaching him what's best...

I think I'm going to sue some people... I think I'll start with my Ex girlfriend's parents. If they hadn't had sex and created her, I never would have dated her, thus she could never have broken my heart, thus I wouldn't have been depressed, which ruined my quality of life, and my pursuit of happiness, which IS GUARANTEED TO ME BY THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, OF WHICH I AM A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN, although I am male, and single, and white, and don't have any kids or communicable diseases, and I don't smoke, so the government doesn't care that I exist, so maybe I need to SUE THEM TOO?

This is so ridiculous! Whatever happened to, "That which does not kill me only makes me stronger"? Now "It's that which does not kill me makes me rich instead of my next closest of kin".

She won;t get anywhere with this, unfortunately she'll waste valueable court time. It's really sad that anyone thinks they have the right to sue over this.

I hope you have better luck with this than I did. I didn't even make it to court. My lawyer laughed me right out of his office. I don't get it. It's not like I burned myself with a hot cup of coffee, or anything like that.

alot of the blame for these types of lawsuits are the sleeeezy lawyers that encourage this kind of a case just hoping that the "big name" corp. will settle out of court and they make some $$........

Typical bleeding heart liberal, blame everyone except the person responsible.

Go figure, the world is full of retards and getting worse.

Sorry but this is almost laughable.

First, its like smoking, everyone knows it can kill you. Everyone knows drinking will get you drunk. All coors needs to do is prove that this dipsheet had gotten drunk before, therefor knowing the effects of alcohol. The girl friend should claim that he stole the car or took it with out her permission.
Third, someone should sue this unlucky kids mom for failing to teach her kid about alcohol and the dangers of drinking and just being a good responsible person.

Oh, and to bad close9, you cant sue the federal government, it is a written law that says they can not be sued.
Sorry to hear about all your troubles though.

Sled...

People just will not accept responsibilty for their actions.

"I spilled hot coffee on my lap, let me sue McD's for making it too hot"

"I got lung cancer from smoking for 30 years, let me sue the tobacco industry for not telling me the dangers of smoking"

"My son got drunk and killed, let me blame the beer company for my kids stupidity"

Just some examples of the way that people think nowadays. They have found a way to get rich quick and will come up with anything just to try and get a few bucks.

At least the kid who was drunk and decided to drive is the one who's dead. Good. Thins out the gene pool and prevents him from killing some inncoent person later.

Now if only the mother would somehow off herself before she reproduces again it would save us all a lot of time and trouble.

Good riddance.

If not, I hope Coors slaughters her *** in court with a countersuit.

Exactly!! If they get their name in lights over this the better jobs will start rolling in. Of course the mother is guilty of letting the lawyer persuade her to go ahead with the suit in the first place. I wonder why they aren't suing the party throwers for providing the beer...or the power company for putting the light pole in just that spot...or maybe the car manufacturer because the darn car just didn't stay on the road. It wouldn't surprise me that is just how stupid some of the lawsuits are these days.

reminds me of a story i heard on the news last night. doesnt involve a lawsuit but a dumbass mother. apparently her kid was involved in a major shootout (the kind you see in the movies). there were 2 carfulls of teenagers and they crashed the cars into each other. they then all jumped out shooting at each other (about 10 kids with pistols/machine guns). 4 kids are dead now. one of the mothers gets on TV saying "My son was such a good kid, he was helping me clean the house and 30 minutes later hes dead, he was such a good smart boy". i saw that and i laughed. dumbass if your kid was so good why was he involved in gangs and shootouts. if he was in a gang he probably is guilty of a lot more crimes too. people are so stupid these days. they blame everything except the actual problem their facing. her kid was not good. just like the beer company is in no way responsible for her sons death. Coors didnt come hold a gun to his head and make him drink their beer then make him drive. id like to see the kids mother actually bought the beer for him and Coors sue her for killing a child by giving him alcohol.
