Painted interiors?

Who all here has painted their interior? What did you use?

I absolutely love the look of the Harley interior, and would like to add some chrome or brushed stainless... but I really don't like the look of either with the gray. I was thinking about painting the interior black, getting black carpet, and having my seats recovered in black leather...

any ideas/opinions?

I painted my ugly brown interior black. I used Krylon black paint that is designed for plastic. You do not have to sand, just wash, let dry and paint. Takes about 5 + coats. Takes 15 minutes to dry and recoat, 1 hour before handling and 7 days to become chip resistant. It actually worked really well, and looks nice. Although, some of the rubbery stuff, like the door handles (the ones you use to close the door, not open them) are a little sticky. I am just going to cover them with fabric. But other then that I like it a lot.

Hey, cool... got any pix?

I had planned on using Krylon Fusion for the plastic parts. I've done some plastic parts for my Belvedere with it, and the front Valance on my truck with it, and both hold up very well...

I would probably use vinyl die in a can for the rubbery parts. I used it for some of the rubbery trim in my Belvedere, and the Eclipse I had (I dyed the headliner black), and it did a very good job there too...

If I did all that I would then just need to find some black carpet and maybe some seat covers for now until I could them recovered...
