ARE Caps & Lids Opinions Wanted

I am a Line-X dealer and also carry accessories. I have had a great deal of customers ask about buying Caps and Lids in my area. There aren't any retailers in my area that sell a decent Cap and Lid.

I have the opporunity to pick up the ARE line of Caps and Lids. What is the general consensus on this product? Most of the other major brands are being sold by other people in a radius close enough to me that I can't pick them up. ARE is the only major brand that is still unrepresented in the area.

Would you pick them up if you had the chance? What has been your experience good or bad with the product if you have owned an ARE product?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Scott Melchi

My wife has an ARE LSII on her SCrew. It's been great other than some initial problems. The paint has issues and was eventually repainted in areas and totally resealed (under warranty). Since then there have been no problems.

Have the ARE Z series on mine. Look great, fits well and is well made. No complaints at all here. I researched a few brands and the ARE was the best in my opinion even though it was priced a little higher.

Most of the caps I see here in Dallas/Arlington are ARE's.

We have an LSII (?) on our F250, its been good. I dont particularly care for the way it looks it that much...profile is too high IMO. I like the low profile look better, but thats JMO. Otherwise it's a very nice cap. Havent had any problems with paint or leaking or anything like that.

I concur with 2000FordStyle.
I've had mine since June, and it has been perfect, no regrets at all.
A good product, and a little high priced, but you do get what you pay for.

Regards

I would pick -up the ARE line in a heart-beat. They are quality equipment and darn good looking.

Saying that, I bought a Leer. I wanted a ARE originally but due to the rise of the Canadian $, Leer dropped their Canadian Prices and ARE did not (yet). I got everything in my Leer for the same price of a base ARE.

If I had to buy again, and the pricing was back to normal (ARE dropped their prices) I would buy the ARE (they just look better).

Any one else out there with an ARE product?

Thanks for the responses so far. I will be making my decision soon.

I have both the LS2 and Z series!

Love A.R.E. caps for their quality and would not get anything else....

I had an LSII on a 2002 Ranger. Fit and finish were excellent. I traded it on a 2004 F150 and wound up with a Leer cap, primarily because ARE didn't have a cap ready for the new body style when I needed it.

I don't see any difference between Leer and ARE - both are excellent products. You should do well as an ARE dealer.

Leer customer service isn't as good as ARE customer service. ARE has a better quality product overall but they do cost more. Both companies damage products occasionally during shipment, but with Leer it happens more often. Warranty work usually takes less time with ARE.
