1998 150 price?
1998 150 price?
I'm not trying to sell this here, but I'm trying to see what some of you think this truck is actually worth.
It's a 1998 F150 reg. cab, stepside box 4wd with only 43K miles. It has the 4.6 V8, manual tranny, factory tow package, 16" aluminum wheels, bed liner, tanuea(bad spelling there) cover, 60/40 bench seat, sliding rear window, sony CD deck with aftermarket speakers, flowmaster muffler, procomp shocks, new clutch, XLT package, all power, cruise, air, keyless entry, and possible remote start. Its moonlight blue with gray clothe interior. The paint is what you would expect the the year but the hood needs to be repainted. Seems like bad primer from the factory from what I hear($150 for the repaint). The tires are National commando XT's with atleast half tread life left, they wear very well from what I hear. There is one General Grabber on there due to a unrepairable flat. The main down fall of the truck is that its an R-title(rebuild). The original owner hit a stump and bent the front cross member. It was replaced with a brand new factory member and you wouldnt even be able to tell. Drives perfectly straight. Previous owner had it for almost 2 years and said everything was great with it.
I know its KBB is about $9k, but I'm wondering what someone would actually pay with it being a rebuild. thanks alot everyone.

I went to a dealership a few months back to look at a Lightning. They took a look at my truck and came back with a number of 6500. I was pretty dissapointed. I've installed a few upgrades to my truck. This particular dealership is SVT and also sells Roush and the salesmant said that they wouldn't have a problem selling a modded vehicle. I was concerned that a dealeship wouldn't want my truck because it's modified but the salesman said it's because it's a stick. He says no one want's to shift a truck any more.
So, if they are going to give me 6500 for my truck, which is at about the same miles as yours and in good shape, they should be able to retail it for 7000-8000. Sound low to you? It sounded low to me which is why I'm still driving my '98 and not a Lightning.
Good luck!

"uhhhh...it's because it's red. No one wants to drive a red truck anymore."
I was thinking about $7k so that sounds good. Do you guys think I should get the hood repainted before I sell it? Make it a little more presentable? Thanks again for the help.
Wittom,
If they offered you $6500 expect them to sell it for closer to $10. I traded a wrangler in a couple years ago and a dealer that offered me $4k at trade in ended up getting it in auction anyways. The later had it on the lot for $9500. Over 200% mark up.
