How do I solve for...

This is about Sound Intensity.

I have the equation,

Intensity = P/4(pi)(r)^2

which means,

Intensity is equal to POWER divided by 4 times PI (3.141592654...) multiplied by the DISTANCE FROM THE SOURCE, SQUARED

I have to solve for r squared.

What will the equation be? My mind cannot compute this.

If the figures intimidate you, just picture it like this:

a = b/cde^2, where I would need to solve for e^2.

It's way past midnight here I got bored... and wanna lift the burden of homework off my shoulders. I just wanna get this out of the way so I won't have to worry about it later in the day (which is reserved for BETTER activities). See, doing it at this time is like not wasting any of my good, precious time.

Yes that's the truck. And I agree, they are somewhat green.

Multiply both sides by r^2.

Then divide both sides by the intensity.

r^2 = P /(I * 4 * pi)

R = Squareroot(P/(4 * pi * intensity))

Oops! Should have 2 right hand parenthesis.

Thanks guys! Jag, I knew it had a squareroot in there somewhere... so thanks.

Now, I'm not sure if I got the right answer or not, but hey, I had the correct equation to solve for the specified variable.
