today i went with my brother to find him a truck. he wanted me to go because i know lots and lots about trucks. we went to a ford dealer and checked out the used stuff first (brother is 21, wanted to check for cheaper stuff first). he was looking for an 01-03 F-150 regular cab flareside with a V8 and automatic. no where had one used. he asked the salesman if there were any 04 heritage like that. the only thing the salesman would show us was STX's but he said they dont come in V8 and flareside, at least not in regular cab. BUT the positive side to that was the salesman drove us around the lot in an 04 red FX4. very nice truck. my brother then said he was thinking about a mustang. the salesman was an a$$. my bro told him what he wanted to spend and the guy comes up with a mustang $10,000 more. he wouldnt quit trying to sell this which we didnt want. eventually we said "lemme go get my insurance stuff out of my car while you pull the black GT out" and we just left. my bro wanted an 04 F-150 but the dealer said there are no incentives on it now. said ford is so proud of it right now there are none on it, and its just too much money for him. we went to a chevy dealer a little ways away. he checked the used lot and found 1 he liked. there were 2 good deals there. one, a fully loaded GMC 1500 maroon for $20k and another almost fully loaded GMC black 1500 for $20k. the black one had 20 inch wheels and exhaust already on it. ended up taking home the black one. its a really nice truck, but no match for F-150.

 

don't let him go Chevy... But it's up to him.

 

ford is just too expensive for him. he definately would have gotten a ford if he could afford it. the best is always the most expensive. its not easy to be 21 and buy a brand new truck and pay for it yourself, ontop of his apartment and all other bills. im just happy he didnt get a dodge. i started listing all the problems with them and i think i scared him away from dodge for good.
