Frank S is correct, the problem is the rotors. Have them turned or just replace them. That will fix the problem.

What Banshee2000 is trying to say is:

If he brakes, he can feel vibration in the steeringwheel.
He said that it doesn't pull to either side but there is a rattling sound.

Could it be his truck has up/downwards play on the steeringwheel assembly.

I would also say warped rotors.

Can feel it in the wheel and pedal. And not as bad when he stands on the brakes....

Hi Karen,

Hi Karen,
let's try in German now.

The rotors are not the problem, we checked them once again on friday and they are fine.
We also put some grease on parts where it was necessary.
It probably has something to do with play on the calipers.
We ordered new bolts just to make sure those are fine too.
You can feel a (klokkern:translation??) vibration when braking, accelerating and turning short turns.
Problem has nothing to do with the tilt steering because the problem iss occuring in every position.

I am also looking for micro fiche online for different parts for F150 trucks. I just want to look at all the individual parts of the f150.

Thank you for your replies.I am impressed about the friendliness here on this forum.

Thanks. Regards Banshee 2000

BTW: Banshee is the Yamaha Quad I am also driving.

*****

Banshee2000, ich konnte das wort "klokkern" nicht ubersetzen.
Kannst du mir erklaeren was du damit meinst.

F150Europe, thank you for a good translation. As you probably noticed the online translator leaves much to be desired. Now that we can communicate theres a better chance that Banshee may get better help.

OK try this.... How about any play in the steering idle arm... It's located on the passenger side inside the frame rail. It would be up and down movement...... Which will let the wheel wobble a little and the steering linkage can hit the frame that would be the klunk.

Klunk.

Too F150Europe: Mit Klokkern meine ich, klopfen, schlagen im lenkrad

Try that link Banshee. This is a common problem with the Lightning trucks.

P.S. My brother lived in Heidelberg in the '80s and loved it.

Thank you F150Europe! I told him I understand a little German but I really do mean a little!! I took 2 years of it in high school but that was many, many moons ago! I know enough to say "hi" and a few other things. I'm sorry Banshee. I didn't mean to mislead you. I hope you find the answers you are looking for. Have a great day!! Karen

Banshee2000:

Vielen Dank F150Europe! Karen

klokkern = knocking, or probably in this case - thumping
