OK gentlemen, N O W I can comment on it because I took time to view it, objectively.

My first impression was wow, he sure let himself go since the American Bandstand days.
Other than that, I agree he appeared to be a complete idiot/moron.

He could not talk in complete sentences.
He had some kind of drool coming out of the corner of his mouth.
His eyes wandered aimlessly.
He was easily distracted and he rambled.
I noticed they had undone some of the buckles of his straightjacket but I could still see some of it on camera.

That's about it.

(except that when you play the tape backwards he makes perfect sense and Bush has troubles come November)

I guess the point I was trying to make is, one cannot dismiss everything as political/democratic mud slinging or dismiss everything that said to be that of an idiot/moron.

David Kay didn't seem to be an idiot, I don't even think he's a democrat.

Paul O'Neil was Bushs' Sec of Treasury. You have to something on the ball to get a cabinet job. A republican cabinet job.

Richard Clarke, first served in his anti-terrorism capacity under Reagan, then Bush 1, then Clinton before Bush 2. I don't see a political axe to grind there.

Is this how it's going to be when anyone exposes dirty laundry?

I respect Colin Powell. If he breaks ranks and takes a path like those three, what will be your response? All three seem to be singing a similiar hymn. There was talk earlier he might not stay on as Sec of State. He was the last of the 'Inner Circle' to be 'won over' on the present course.

If Powell withdraws before Nov and opens his big mouth, why not go on record now of calling him an idiot/moron? I would be impressed if you called one before the fact, rather than after.

Let just simplify it. Anyone who speaks out about the performance of the current administration is an idiot/moron.

If we can just clarify that as a standing rule, you can save a god aweful amount of typing.

Colin Powell would cause me to give pause.

If you'll do a little digging, you'll see that all three of the "whistle-blowers," so far, have had book deals with Simon and Schuster, a subsidiary of Viacom. Viacom also owns CBS. Hmmmm. I'm sure that's just a co-incky-dink.

You are too generous!!

I was trying to think of analogy for that and this is the best I could come up with...

During the O.J. trial, Simpson suddenly leaps to his feet and screams,
"OK, I did it! I did it!"
and one juror looks at another and says,
"You know, I think he may have done it."

of course, all my nonsense about Powell is just that.
Career military men are loyal to a fault.(Unless their name is Clark)
If he has any personal demons, he'll take them to his grave.
This administration got a good bargain on Sec of State.

(notice how I post after you go to bed so it appears you have no rebuttal for my keen grasp of the subject?)

Not good things.

But on the other hand, even completely psychotic women can act normal enough to get a guy to marry them

He was a holdover from the Clinton White House. He had vital information due to his cabinet level post under "Slick Willie."

Here's an article from the Washington Times that shows what he did for the previous administration.

Clarke Praises Bush in Resignation Letter

Here is the story

"It has been an enormous privilege to serve you these last 24 months," said the Jan. 20, 2003, letter from Clarke to Bush. "I will always remember the courage, determination, calm, and leadership you demonstrated on September 11th."
Can we say "two faced" or "Fake" or "Back stabber"...

that may explain one guy, but what about the others that have once been involved with the Bush Admin. and are now being called idiots. David Kay, Paul O'Neill, Christie Todd Whitman, etc.

I remember Paul O'Neill backtracked on a lot of what the press was reporting about his views and what said/didn't say. I think a summation of an interview I read from him was that everything got blown completely out of porportion. I did notice he waited untill his book had been out for a few weeks before he made these comments. Anyway....

Here's a transcript from an interview with
CLARKE in early 2002. He talks pretty favorably about the Bush administration policy. It's a little different from the current position portrayed by the press of Bush did nothing.

transcript

"CLARKE: No, it came up in April and it was approved in principle and then went through the summer. And you know, the other thing to bear in mind is the shift from the rollback strategy to the elimination strategy. When President Bush told us in March to stop swatting at flies and just solve this problem, then that was the strategic direction that changed the NSPD from one of rollback to one of elimination."
