Shock and Awe

As of today it's been a year since the shock and awe assault. We all know about the big talk about this statigic attack at the time. We also know that all of the leaders, thugs, clowns and what not walked away from this. So they came up with the deck of cards and we were able to catch them one at a time. So this deck proved none were killed. I've noticed no one talks about this assault that killed innocent people that had nothing to do with the regime. So it's pretty clear that this show of force really didn't show anything. So what did this billions of dollars shock and awe deal accomplish? Was it a mistake or was it well worth it?

I am in shock and awe that your post says nothing, and I don't have a clue what you are talking about.

Any time you can lay down such a tremendous amount of ordinance that it has your opponent reeling it is worth it in lives saved. To accomplish what the "shock and awe" did with normal ground forces would have human cost that would not have been acceptable to Bush (or any other American President) in the domestic or foreign arena.

Just another confused and angry liberal, biter about the fact that liberals like Kerry will remain out of power for decades to come...

Now that is NOT shock and awe, just facts...

This post is for adult opinions and answers on what you think about the facts about the shock and awe assault that happened a year ago. Not a childish Kerry Bush bash. Thank you

FrankJr,
The "Shock and Awe" that you refer to lasted approximately 28 seconds. Any historically educated person knows that even the best thought-out plan rarely lasts through the first contact with the enemy. In truth, "Shock and AWE" never happened. Only the exploitative news networks and the drones who ape them say it did.
In any battle plan, there is the "perfect world" scenario, and the "Realistic Scenario". Seems like the realistic scenario has won-out every time.
Let's just say that the "Shock and Awe" you refer to didn't develop due to the fact that Saddam Hussein is truly a coward, and decided to hide in a hole instead of putting up a fight.

I happened to watch ABC news tonight. That was their theme for tonight. They were trying to point out how accurate and potent our weapons of war are, in comparison to the ineffectiveness and inaccuracy of the United States intelligence gathering systems. Apparently Frankjr was watching, too. I wonder how many Americans can watch the major news outlets and discern the obvious bias of the reporting. FOX runs pretty much down the middle and seems downright conservative when compared to just about any other outlet. It's scary how effective the disinformation system of the Liberal media is in the US. If peter Jennings or Tom Brokaw reported that the world ended at noon today, there would be an outbreak of Liberals falling to their deaths, from tall buildings, while testing out their new angel's wings by 1:00 PM.

I remember thinking at the time, that all the talk about "shock and awe" was just military misinformation to keep the Iraqi forces pinned up for easy destruction while waiting for the main attack. When compared to Persian Gulf 1 I think the firepower demonstration was a little flat. However the the percision of the smart weapons was rather good.

This is funny. Everytime someone asks a question about the war, terror or what not it turns into a name calling right and left junk fest. If you queustion anything bush has done your automatically a liberal. I hope this tunnel vision of garbage isn't contagious. Oh, I forgot my brain is mush so I won't have to worry catching it. Those who don't have a brain of mush what is it made of? No, please don't tell me I will be jealous!

shock and awe was never meant to kill all the leaders of iraq. it was meant to do exactly as the name says, shock them and leave them in awe of the force of the american military. they did hit many many of the iraqi military buildings and hoped it would leave the leaders so scared they surrendered. didnt work like they hoped though.
