Song of the hour is "Figured You Out" by Nickelback: (this could change by 8AM tomorrow morning!!)

I like your pants around your feet
I like the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While you're looking up at me
You're like my favourite damn disease

And I love the places that we go
And I love the people that you know
And I love the way you can't say no
Too many long lines in a row
I love the powder on your nose

Ooooh
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out

I like the freckles on your chest
And I like the way you like me best
And I like the way you're not impressed,
While you put me to the test
I like the wine stains on your dress

And I love the way you pass the check
And I love the good times that you wreck
And I love your lack of self respect
While you're passed out on the deck
I love my hands around your neck

And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out

I love your pants around your feet
And I love the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While you're looking up at me
You're like my favourite damn disease

And I hate the places that we go
And I hate the people that you know
And I hate the way you can't say no
Too many long lines in a row
I hate the powder on your nose

And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out

Popped this into the cd player a couple of days ago and can't get it out of my mind...

The Beach Boys, Feel Flows

Unfolding enveloping missiles of soul
Recall senses sadly
Mirage like soft blue like lanterns below
To light the way gladly
Whether whistling heaven's clouds disappear
Where the wind withers memory
Whether whiteness whisks soft shadows away
Feel flows (White hot glistening shadowy flows)
Feel goes (Black hot glistening shadowy flows)

Unbending never ending tablets of time
Record all the yearning
Unfearing all appearing message divine
Eases the burning
Whether willing witness waits at my mind
Whether hope dampens memory
Whether wondrous will stands tall at my side
Feel flows (White hot glistening shadowy flows)
Feel goes (Black hot glistening shadowy flows)

Encasing all embracing wreath of repose
Engulfs all the senses
Imposing, unclosing thoughts that compose
Retire the fences
Whether wholly heartened life fades away
Whether harps heal the memory
Whether wholly heartened life fades away
Whether wondrous will stands tall at my side
Whether whiteness whisks soft shadows away
Feel goes (White hot glistening shadowy flows)
Feel flows (Black hot glistening shadowy flows)
Feel goes (White hot glistening shadowy flows)
Feelings to grow (White hot glistening shadowy flows)

White hot glistening shadowy flows
White hot glistening shadowy flows
White hot glistening shadowy flows

I need a lover that won't drive me crazy.
One that will thrill me, then go away . . .

Go to yahoo and type in "25 cent depression" and you can get some of their music(they dont have a cd out). The lead singer lived in my town for alittle bit and i new him pretty good. I think he lives in Texas or somting now. They are pretty good anyway.

Right now Im in a Korn phase. Im not real big on their Take a Look in the Mirror CD, but Untouchables and Got the Life has to be 2 of my favorite CD's

I like the Chillie Peppers, Pearl Jam, Incubus etc. too

Oh, hell, I'll post mine too.

Everything is quiet
Since you're not around
And I live in the numbness now
In the background

I do the things we did before
I walk Haight Street to the store
And they say where's that crazy girl
You don't get drunk on red wine
And fight no more
I don't see you anymore
Since the hospital

The plans I make still have you in them
'Cause you come swimming into view
And I'm hanging on your words
Like I always used to do
The words they use so lightly
I only feel for you
I only know because I carry you around
In the background

Words they come and memories all repeat
Lift your head while they change the hospital sheets
And I would never lie to you
No, I would never lie to you
No, I felt you long after we were through
When we were through

The plans I make still have you in them
'Cause you come swimming into view
And I'm hanging on your words
Like I always used to do
The words they use so lightly
I only feel for you
I only know because I carry you around
In the background

'Cause I felt you long after we were through

When you come swimming into view
And I'm hanging on your words
Like I always used to do
The words they use so lightly
I only feel for you
I only know because I'm way, I'm way
In the background
I'm in the background

Third Eye Blind, 'The Background'

Ahhhh, "the gambler". Haven't heard that in
quite a while...exactly how old are you Raoul?!
Actually that is "Lucille" not the Gambler.

Gambler:

On a warm summers evening, on a train bound for nowhere
I met up with a gambler, we were both too tired to sleep
So we took turns at staring out the window at the darkness
The boredom overtook us and he began to speak
He said, son I've made a life out of reading people's faces
And knowing what the cards were, by the way they held their eyes
So if you don't mind my sayin', I can see you're out of aces
For a taste of your whiskey, I'll give you some advice
So I handed him my bottle, and he drank down my last swallow
Then he bummed a cigarette and asked me for a light
And the night got deathly quiet, and his face lost all expression
Said, if you're gonna play the game, boy, you gotta learn to play it right

You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away and know when to run
You never count your money, when you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin', when the dealin's done
Every gambler knows that the secret to survive is
Knowing what to throw away and knowing what to keep
'Cos every hand's a winner and every hand's a loser
And the best that you can hope for is that I end asleep
And when he finished speakin', he turned back for the window
Crushed out the cigarette, faded off to sleep
And somewhere in the darkness, the gambler he broke even
But in his final words I found an ace that I could keep

Lightning crashes...a new mother cries...
Her placenta falls to the floor...
The angel opens her eyes...
The confusion sets in...
Before the doctor can even close the door...

Lightning crashes...an old mother dies...
Her intentions fall to the floor...
The angel closes her eyes...
The confusion that was hers...
Belongs now to the baby down the hall...

Oh now feel it coming back again...
Like a rolling thunder chasing the wind...
Forces pulling from the center of the Earth again...
I can feel it...

Lightning crashes...a new mother cries...
This moment she's been waiting for...
The angel opens her eyes...
Pale blue colored eyes...
Presents the circle and puts the glory out to hide, hide...

Oh now feel it coming back again...
Like a rolling thunder chasing the wind...
Forces pulling from the center of the Earth again...
I can feel it...
I can feel it...

I can feel it coming back again...
Like a rolling thunder chasing the wind...
Forces pulling from the center of the Earth again...
I can feel it...

I can feel it coming back again...
Like a rolling thunder chasing the wind...
Forces pulling from the center of the Earth again...
I can feel it...
I can feel it...

I love SRV.

A song I seem to play everytime I pick up the guitar now is "Six O'Clock News" by John Prine (who was awesome in Eureka Springs last week). Man, that's a sad song.

Wanda had a baby in 1951
The father was a stranger
and a stranger was the son
Call that child James Lewis
Call these rooms a home
Changin' all those diapers
Polish all that chrome
C'mon baby, spend the night with me

All around the schoolyard
Playin' all the games
Runnin', laughin' back and forth
The kid with two first names
Stranger's in the closet
Lock the diary
The past is runnin' faster
Singin' harmony
C'mon baby, spend the night with me

"God bless this kitchen"
said the knick-knack shelf
Dinner's almost ready
Go and wash yourself
Jimmy's growin' up now
Wanda growin' old
Time is growin' shorter
The nights are long and cold
C'mon baby, spend the night with me

Sneakin' in the closet
and through the diary
Don't you know all he saw
was all there was to see
The whole town saw Jimmy
on the six o'clock news
His brains were on the sidewalk
Blood was on his shoes
C'mon baby, spend the night with me
C'mon baby, spend the night with me

Not a song but it seems to fit here.

Collards is green, my dog's name is Blue
and I'm so lucky to have a sweet thang like you.
Yore hair is like cornsilk a-flapping in the breeze.
Softer than Blue's and without all them fleas.

You move like the bass, which excite me in May.
You ain't got no scales but I luv you anyway.
Yo're as satisfy'n as okry jist a-fry'n in the pan.
Yo'reas fragrant as "snuff" right out of the can.

You have some'a yore teeth, for which I am proud;
I hold my head high when we're in a crowd.
On special occasions, when you shave under yore arms,
well, I'm in hawg heaven, and awed by yore charms.

Still them fellers at work, they all want to know,
what I did to deserve such a purdy, young doe.
Like a good roll of duct tape yo're there fer yore man,
to patch up life's troubles and fix what you can.

Yo're as cute as a junebug a-buzzin' overhead.
You ain't mean like those far ants I found in my bed.
Cut from the best cloth like a plaid flannel shirt,
you spark up my life more than a fresh load of dirt.

When you hold me real tight like a padded gunrack,
my life is complete. Ain't nuttin' I lack.
Yore complexion, it's perfection, like the best vinyl sidin'.
despite all the years, yore age, it keeps hidin'.

Me 'n' you's like a Moon Pie with a RC cold drank,
we go together like a skunk goes with stank.
Some men, they buy chocolate for Valentine's Day;
They git it at Wal-Mart, it's romantic that way.

Some men git roses on that special day
from the cooler at Kroger."That's impressive," I say.
Some men buy fine diamonds from a flea market booth.
"Diamonds are forever," they explain, suave and couth.

But for this man, honey, these won't do.
Cause yor'e too special, you sweet thang you.
I got you a gift, without taste nor odor,
more useful than diamonds......

IT'S A NEW TROLL'N MOTOR!!
