Thumbs down Ford Service is a Joke

Well aside from a major clunk in my tranny I have been trying to fix since I bought the truck 30k miles ago, today the service foreman for the local dealer here in AZ (Earnhardts) called and said they would not fix the rear axle leak unless it drips on the ground.

I almost fell out fo my chair. When you look under the truck you can see the left side right next to the center is wet on the front and back about 12" inches long towards the outside of the axle. If you put your finger on it, it will come back loaded with sludge.

What the hell do they classify as a leak????

Also they stupid repair guy burned 1/3 of the tank replacing the overdrive light in the console.

I got in the truck and it was WAY below E and pegged to EMPTY.
I thought it was broken because the odometer was only 5 miles more. It must have been idleling with the a/c on for 4 hours.

What was I supposed to do, argue with him on that??? I am already arguing that they need to fix the tranny before the warrenty expires and it blows up! I am even letting the leaky axle slide.

What a friggin joke!!!!!!

This is my last Ford product! Had the same issue with my Navigator. Took it in for a warm rear A/C and they could not fix it. Took it to a BIG dealer far from here and they said the person who worked on it before ruined the entire system by contaminating it and it will be $6000 for a front to rear system.

Why Ford, why do you insist on crapping on American Consumers who buy your product!!!

Thumbs down

HI!... Sounds to me like it's your idiot of a dealer you brought your truck to that you should be bitching about. Not FORD's.

Yep. I bought my first new Ford at a sucky dealer. Then I found a dealer that doesn't suck. I found them by taking the Truck the first one wouldn't fix under warrenty to another dealer. The other dealer treated me well every time I went there, so that's where I bought the Truck I have now.
For awhile, whever I'd see a Ford, I would ask the owner where he got it. When they said "Suburban Ford" I'd always ask if they'd buy another one there, and the reply was always "NO" It pretty much got to where, based on a Ford owners comments about their truck, I could already tell where they got it.
Heck, I know a guy who got a gasser like mine, and paid 5k more than I did!! (diesel is a $6k option) and of course he has issues that the dealer won't resolve. Guess where he got it?
Bottom line: Shop around!!

A lot depends on the dealer. I had my truck in and out of my local dealer for 25,000 miles and they couldn't figure out what was causing my shimy. 5 minutes at another dealer and the issue was resolved.

A bad dealership can be any make of auto. I have had nothing but good experience from my Ford dealer ... I do drive past four other dealerships to get to them.

I purchased a 2003 Infiniti G35 that I sold in less than a year because of terrible service experiences. And that was the year JD Power gave Infiniti the award for best service.
