I'll be Back (Probably)
Whoohoo!
I am just finishing up a month here in Houston and I will be flying home on Friday.
I have only spent 8 days back home since Jan 4th so I'm pretty excited about seeing the wife, kids (and truck
)
I should be back here after Easter IF my work permit comes through. What a pain in the A$$ !!!! All I can say is it's a good job we are on the same side and I'm not French or anything.
If I come back for the Summer, I will be selling my Lariat back in England and buying the nicest 2003 HD I can find. I have already looked at 3 in the area, so wish me luck.

Ok Good Luck. Have a safe trip and out curiousity how much does it cost to get a truck shipped over?

The price was 1400 Pounds (exchange rate at the time $1.57=1 GBP)
That included all paperwork and delivery to my home about 200 miles away.
The real killer is that for a personal import, you have to pay 22% car tax on the sticker price + shipping cost. Then you have to pay an additional 17.5% Sales Tax on top of that.
All this goes towards paying for things like our "free" healthcare
Now, if I own and register a vehicle for 6 months outside Europe and be non resident in the UK for income tax, I don't have to pay any of the taxes.
That way I could afford the HD plus the exchange rate is very good for me at the moment.
