Locally, there is a radio commercial for one of the Dodge dealers. The guy on the commercial mentions their "Heemee" trucks. I had to laugh.

Read an artical in the local news about how the Hemi has such name recognition.They talk to that duffuss that does the truck commercials, he said he had never heard of a hemi before he did the commercial, now people ask him all the time, Hey that thing got a Heemee...

I've lived in Jawjah since '86 and the funniest thing I ever hear here is someone pronounce "ruined" as "runt".

Here in hillbilly heaven, it is pronounced `rurnt`, that's right, `rurnt`.

I crack up every time I read that now, even if I've read it 10 times.

 

At least he didn't call it a "Himey." I bet Jesse Jackson would have gotten a kick out of it though.
