Met The President Today
Met The President Today
today i got to meet president bush in person, and i must say, im impressed with his attitude and personality. he is a spectacular man, even though i dont agree with his US/Mexico border policies, i think he re-won my vote (if i could vote). im surprised he took the time to talk to me, a minor too young to vote. that impressed me.
i met him at the Houston Livestock Show. these guys came up to me and were like "Would you like to meet President Bush?" and i was like "yeah id like that" and they were like "then put your hands on the table and spread your legs, this is standard procedure" so i was like "ok, whatever" after they searched me president bush came walking up and shook my hand.

You should have asked him,
If we (the USA) are so interested in preserveing freedom and willing to have US men and women die in Iraq, why is the FCC so involved in trying to stop freedom of speech on the radio airwaves?

A livestock show? That's kinda funny imagining a president attending one of those. That's cool you got to meet him though.

being from the Houston area I know what he meant. the Livestock show is huge then followed nightly with the rodeo im not surprised at all he was there. we used to see his dad at the rodeo and livestock show all the time. not to mention the seats they had behind home plate at the dome for the stros, and that was when dubya was in with rangers.

"The big rodeo was associated with drinking, swearing, dancing, singing, parades, pagents, indians, more drinking, but no livestock show.:
Now that's where I'd expect Bush to Be.
Seriously though, that's cool you got to meet our President and even talk with him. Very cool.

yeah our livestock show/rodeo is pretty big. starts off with the World Championship BBQ Cookoff, the biggest bbq in the world, with over 350 teams barbequing. if you know how big the parking lot for Reliant Stadium is (the parking lot at the stadium superbowl was in), the cookoff uses the entire parking lot. then they start the livestock show, which goes on for 19 days. every night of the livestock show there is a rodeo with some of the current most popular musicians in the business (george strait, alan jackson, clay walker, kenny chesney, etc) they also have "Black Heritage Day" and "Hispanic Heritage Day" where they get rappers/mariachi type things but no one cares about those. the last day of rodeo they have the rodeo finals, and last year they started the Xtreme Bull Riding, where instead of having all the other rodeo events (steer wrestling, roping, bronc riding) its bull riding the entire time. the thing that surprises me is that its only $19 to go, $21 for the good seats but those sell out quick. thats $19 for about 4 hours of entertainment.
the livestock show is big, there are animals from all over the country to show here, because the price is so big if you win. last year the price of Grand Champion Steer was $575,000 and the year before i think it was $605,000. thats a lot of money for a cow..... but all the high placed animals sell for tons and tons of money. biggest livestock show in the world also. its not just a livestock show, its shopping, carnival, food, petting zoo, all sorts of stuff to do there. im showing a steer there, doubt ill get to sell him there but its a lot of fun being there.
now hopefully ill be in the rodeo in a few years, last year i started bullriding. i wanna get in the big shows so i can make some real money.
