The PTA at the public school my kid goes to has to buy our Vice Principle every year because the county doesn't hire enough to go around. His school has I think 3-4 fund raiser a year to pay for this and other school items.
I don’t understand it, I really don’t we are spending a TON of money on schools, well more then we should have to but yet the money seems to never get to the school.
There is a problem there somewhere and it’s called public schools not having accountability for where the money goes. This just seems to continue, which I think is good, that it is time for public schools to go to the way side and bring in private schools where parents get vouchers to put their children in good quality school systems that have accountability for not just the money spent but the education given to the children.
This is good that this kind of news comes out because it helps to further back private ran schools and the school voucher programs and helps to further show the public that the current liberal run public school system is becoming another failed program like just about all other liberal run programs…
It is NOT about public schools NOT getting enough money, it is about how this liberal run program is going bankrupt due to the inefficient way in which the public schools are ran. We all know that public schools get well more money then they actual need and its time to put a stop to people in these liberal run programs getting fat and rich off our children…
If you really care about the children then get on board with bringing the private sector in which has proven time and time again they always do a better job with less cost then any government, especially liberal run program…

Tell you what, if I were to ever get elected to office it would be a one term deal because by the time I was done I most likely would have pissed off every special interest within my area. I am willing to bet the majority of the people would be very happy. There would be no money for reelection unless the people themselves sent me in money to do so and that don’t usually happen.
It would be fun and some things would get done the right and correct way and it would be a big change having someone actually represent the people themselves…

Oh boy did he ever **** off the nurses, teaches, unions, welfare recipients and most importantly, the liberal media. They way they talked about the guy, you would think he was a **** war criminal.
Because of his right-leaning agenda, Ontario had the highest economic growth of any state/province from any of the G7 nations. Taxes are way down, profits and wages way up. We all have a better life. This guy brought in the welfare cheat hotline to snitch on the system cheats. He faced down the public service unions and gave them the FU.
He did some questionable things too, however, we were better off after his 7 years in office than before.
So be prepared to have many enemies. Not the ones that count, but the ones with the biggest voices.

Here is the sad truth in today’s way of politics and getting elected, you have to know the right people with a large sum of money to even think about getting elected. I may know a total of 10 people in this state since I am not originally from here (moved here in 93)
The hard thing or basically impossible thing as I am positive it would be for you, J-150 or a few others would be the fact we wouldn’t be able to get these people with large sums of money to back us because it’s not in our character to lie and cheat them into funding a run at elected office.
I mean many of the people with money are the ones we would end up pissing off big time and would have had to lie to them in the beginning to get them behind us. Politics sure is a mess now days…
There has to be a better way of getting the big money out, or at least forcing OUR air waves into giving free time to serious candidates in order to equal out those without money to those with the money…

I think Howard Dean made a point in the Demo race. Aside from his flaws, he got fired up enough that he fired up a grassroots initiative unseen since the war of Independence. Look at how much money he raised via the internet from non-traditional nickel-and-dime donations.
He and his internet supporters were so fired up they actually forced the likes of Kerry to finally take a stand (or reverse a stand) on the issues.
I think the American voters should be happy a guy like Dean forced this kind of change, even if he wasn't the right candidate.
Maybe if a few more like Dean stood up with a "I'm sick and tired and not gonna take it anymore" attitude, the "old boys club" may lose its grip.

01:
Start small by running for your local school board. It doesn't take much money and you should be able to rally support amongst other like minded parents.

I think it's funny (maybe Sad) that someone can read something like this and STILL think the schools are getting Too much money. Give me a break. It's public record as to what the schools spend their money on. Take a look at it. What would you change? We pay our teachers crap, most of our schools are run down, yet it's all "inefficiencies" and waste.
Sometimes the facts hit you square in the head yet you just can't see it. How bout you just vote to pass the next school levy. Yea, education costs money. Fork it up.
Reality check. We Don't spend a TON of money on Education. We spend a Ton of money (the majority of the money) on the military. One smart bomb could buy all the parts, paper, ink cartridges, and lockers that school needs for 3 years. It's the simple truth. We offer 25 million dollar rewards for one Iraqi bad guy but can't afford the simple necessities for our schools. Sad..

A lot of people have gone from the school board to bigger and better things in public office. It's all a matter of getting your name out there as someone who can effect positive change. Prove you can do that at the school board level and you'll have all the support you need. Then the sky's the limit...
