Cool Taxes

Just got done doing my taxes. Big turn around from last year. $1200 turnaround. Will be gettin $1883 back this year. (Can we say new tires?) Ya buddy!!! I like that tax cut from the CIC! And Kerry is saying he is going to repeal the Bush tax cuts? In other words, he is going to raise our taxes if he gets elected. What's he ? Just another reason to vote for Dubya. Keep that in mind come NOV.

I took my taxes to my CPA yesterday. I'll have them in a few days but I doubt I will get much (a few hundred). It seems all I ever here is people getting thousands back. How do you do this? Do you have ten kids or airplanes for business use? lol...

You overstate your taxes and loose the time value of money on the amount you overstated.

Just for the record, Kerry has said he only wants to repeal the tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% of Americans. These would not affect our taxes in the slightest.

sirket,

When I heard kerry say he was planning on repealing the Bush tax cuts, he said NOTHING about it only being the wealthiest 1%. If the were the case, I'm sure our liberal media would be replaying that over and over again. As you well know, the mainstream media has a love affair with these liberal demos. Now, kerry may well have realized that what he was planning would hurt him tremendously and is trying to backpedal to save face, which would be typical of him by looking at his voting record. Say one thing and do another.

I haven’t heard Kerry state that either. In any regards it don’t matter what Kerry might say now, he will raise taxes on everyone that actually works and pay taxes and most likely give tax cuts to those who do NOT deserve them, which is those that don’t work and/or DON’T pay taxes to begin with. You know, those people that get a bonus at the end of the year for sitting on their ***… (They call it a tax credit, LMAO, why do some people call it a tax credit when it is really a bonus for those that don’t pay taxes to begin with…)

Vote for Kerry if you want to give more money to the federal government and also give terrorist a break from being hunted down and killed…

I am claiming head of houshold with 2 kids. Last year I got back $1200 from the feds and $800 from state. This year, I got an $800 check back in July and I am still getting back $2500 from feds and $900 from state. The only difference from this year is I have a home equity line of credit (needed to get rid of my F250 payments and buy a horse trailer...and take care of some other bills) that I claimed under my exemptions. I defiinately do not want to see a demoncrat in the white house for the next...eterinity

With the income me and my wife bring in I will be top 1% in a few years. I DON'T WANT TO PAY MORE TAXES! and that's all i got to say bout that.

Has anyone actually figured out what the top 1% is. If I remember correctly when Clinton was raising taxes on the top 2% the income figure was down in the $80,000 range.

Quick search of the internet gave me these figures for 1999:

Total gross earnings: (before taxes)

Top 10 percent 188,000
Top 5 Percent 276,000
Top 1 Percent 719,000

edit:

According to the IRS in 2001:

Top 1 percent Adjusted Gross Income $292,913
Top 10 percent Adjusted Gross Income $92,754
Median Adjusted Gross Income $28,117
