What is the better software for detecting spy stuff?
Adaware, or spybot?

Is one better than the other? Which is the best software to find and detect this stuff?

Thanks
Habibi

They are both good IMO.

AdAware is less intrusive, but adaware will get practically EVERYTHING for you, which can be a hassle (I had problems with it changing cookies and security settings in IE that I wanted a certain way).

For home use AdAware is sufficient IMO.
Whichever one you get make sure you update regularly and run it at least every few days.

I use both. I have seen cases where Ad aware catches stuff that Spybot S&D did not and then I have seen Spybot catch things that Ad aware didn't. I always just run both and it usually catches everything.

Be careful though because if you get the CoolWebSearch on your computer, neither one will completely get rid of it. You would then need a program called CWShredder to get rid of that.

Use both

I'm serious. Each one picks up stuff that the other misses.

As someone stated, use both. Also get a copy of "HijackThis" for those random sites that will hijack your home page.

My sister's computer was so jacked up when I visited her, Ad Aware and Spyubot just didn't do the trick, I needed Hijack this. She has three boys that just downloaded anything at will. Plus, she was on cable without a firewall and not running any antivirus protection. It took me a while to clean her computer out.

I use the first two mainly on my own computer though.
