need help tonight please!!

i shorted out my Screw. i was installing a lighted licence plate frame and was splicing it into the lincense plate lights that are on the bumper. well i touched the two wires from the light together and now my parking light don't come on and my brakes lights don't come on, only when i hit the brake pedel though, and also the chime that rings when the lights are left on and the keys are out of the ignition is out! please help tonight! willie

Sounds like you just burnt out a fuse. Have you looked in your manual, found the fuse for the license plate and checked it?

i did but i can't really tell which one it was. i am sure i checked them all. i'am sure it was a fuse, that was the first thing i checked. but i might have missed one.

They can be hard to spot sometimes. If you look in the manual it will tell you wich fuse it should be and just try replacing it. If you don't have the manual I would imagine you can find it somewhere on the web. I think it's labeled as "running lights" if I'm not mistaken.

only thing that the manuel says is DRL, daytime running lamps, i will tryt that one and see, but i think that i will still need help!

If you need to buy fuses , Get a test light ( no more than 5 bucks) you clip the wire on the light to a good ground, turn on the ign. and touch the probe end to the exposed metal on the top of each fuse. the one that lights the light on only one side of the fuse is the bad one. Mechanics don't normally have the time required to figure out where and how each circuit is fused so this is the quick way to check fuses. Also don't forget the fuses under the hood. I know they run the rear lights and trailer lights from there also

yeah! my dumbass forget to look there, until now! i found it, fixed it and all's well! but again, thanks for the responses!
