antique question

antique question

Anybody collect antiques ? Got something here I need to sell for my dad and trying to figure out what to start it at. I know what it appraised but just want opinons about it. The materials are over a hundred years old and my grandfather made these benches out of old parts carts in the fifties. they are heaaaaaavy. take a look and let me know..

I think you have something thats value will truly be based on the buyers desire.

What you have will either go for a lot of money because of the custom nature and age. Or, it will go to someone who just wants it because it looks neat (and won't pay much for it).

I would contact some interior designers in your area. The really expensive ones. The should be able to place the benches within a decor that they custom design.

You may also contact some antique stores and get them appraised. I wouldn't be surprised if they go for several hundred to an anitique dealer, or several thousand for a custom interior design.

I think the benches are really neat and well built. I would hold them for as long as you can and wait for the buyer to some to you. While your waiting, get the word out that you have them.
