Cool

HI!... Hey DAVE at least I'm MAN enough to admit I'm wrong. I thought they were still making them out of aluminum. I found out today that my brother's father-in-law painted his block silver when he had it out. That's why it looked aluminum.

Your still wrong on the FOX BODY and the SN95 chassis are the same though.

Told ya so!!

Nya Nya.

P.S : I think you should change your user name. You don't have a CAMARO SS anymore............. DAKOTA BOY! lol!

Sorry Neal,

I just knew you'd come running to the F-150 boys for the correct info. I just wanted to see it for myself.

As for the Fairmont Cobra issue, here's a few comments I pasted from Stangnet below. Most of the Mustang guys accept that their cars have 25 year old chassis design based on the Fairmont.

"built on a 27year old chassis.. i would say it's normal. running 275/40 on stock tires will give you a fugged ride as well. "

"Like the others have said, blame it on our Fairmont chassis"

"the price of a new MGT is ridiculous for what you're getting. 2V/cyl, live axle & struts on a platform largely unchanged from the days of Jimmy Carter and Kool & The Gang with interior appointments and ergonomics designed in 1984s "Room 101" etc etc..."

"Then came the Fox bodies on the Fairmont chassis, does anyone know how long the Fairmont, as a model lasted?? Not near as long as it's chassis did underneath the Mustang, that's for damn sure!! Then we have the SN95, which is nothing more than a reskinned and tweaked Fox chassis! "

"If we are talking about outdated F-bodies, then why hasn't anyone brought up the fact that the all-superior 03 Cobra has the underpinnings of a 78 Fairmont?"

"The fox platform originated in the form of a 79 Fairmont, but the mustang contiued to grow and technology from it is still used in our cars today. "

You're right, I should change my user name since I traded the Camaro, especially since my post count seems reset to "0" anyway. But Dakotaboy as a user name just seems too troll-like.

Hey, now's a ggod time to find out where all those cast 5.4 cranks that I shipped out of Ford's Windsor Casting Plant went. Anybody know what cast iron 5.4 cranks are used for?

Cool

HI!... Ya but nothing from a 80's FOX BODY will bolt onto a SN95 chassis. So as usual the 5.0 boys are

Ya the 5.4 cast iron cranks ended up in the replacement 5.4's. Do a search. This has been discussed OVER and OVER again and was already proved.

the 2005 mustang will be the first all new chassis in about 25 years

the sn95 is a variation of the fox body.

the 4.6 cobra and the 5.4 L engine block are different.

The only chassis parts that were carryover were the floorpan and K-member.

HI!... Big Man : The 5.4 has a taller deck height than the 4.6. That's why a 4.6 intake manifold won;t bolt on to a 5.4 block. The 5.4 is wider between the heads than a 4.6. Kind of similiar difference like the old 302/351w.
