Back to the original point of this thread, I don't know why all these revelations always come as such a shock to people.
Politicians aren't sealed in a glass box till they stand for office.
How many of us 40/50 year olds here on the board would like their entire past laid out for public scrutiny?
How many of you youngsters on here would be prepared to live like a paragon of virtue till that age when you stood for office?
All people make mistakes. It's called experience.
As long as politicians don't have a real criminal past, I don't really care what they have been up to before.

Personally, I could care less about a politician or anyone else for that matter fooling around on the side. As long as its a "one nighter" or close to it and it is "on the side" of their professional life. If you were to do a survey of highly educated, highly successful professional males.....you would find that a very high percentage of them have had or currently have "flings" on the side. You would also find that these relationships do not affect their business lives or dealings at all. I am not saying that I condone this behavior. What I am saying is that it does not effect me what so ever.

Look at JFK.....to date we are still hearing of old relationships that he had on a regular basis. Can you honestly say that he was worse of a President, knowing what you know now?

There is a local radio talk show host here in Boston that I think hit the nail on the head.
#1 It is well know that Clark is a Clinton puppet
#2 Dean states that he is pulling out if he does not do well in the next caucus
#3 Dean comes back, stating that he is staying the race despite what he said - for his supporters (yeah right)
#4 Clark breaks the story to the press - off the record
#5 Clark is supposedly going to endorse Kerry now....

Back to #1, what is gained by Clark making this statement to the press? Nothing
If Kerry beats Bush in the next election...Hell_ery is screwed in 2008. If Kerry pulls a nosedive.....Hell_ery pops in as a Democratic savior. This story has NOTHING to do with Republican tactics.

Like 01 XLT Lightning (the man formally known as...) stated...Judge the man on current actions and voting record. I cannot think of ONE THING THAT KERRY HAS DONE OR HAVE EVEN NOTICED that Kerry was here in Mass, in his career.

God I hope this is the end of the line for Kerry. We'll have to see if the main stream (liberal) media goes with this story. The last I knew they hadn't touched it.

I know a lot of people want Bush out of there but I don't think Kerry is the one to make things "better". Kerry is a career polotician, you know the kind who is fluent in double talk, who talks out of the side of their mouth. You all (meaning the population of this country) can elect this guy if you want. Who ever happends to be president at any particular time really dosen't effect me all that much, so far. Kerry has been in the local media here for as long as I can remember and I can't remember a time that I felt he could, or should be trusted. This whole Democratic nominee circus that's been taking over my TV solidifies my opinion.

I am registered unenrolled. I don't have a political affiliation. In the past I have voted for canidates from alternate parties, parties other than the two in the current, narrow system. I don't think that voting this way will put that particular person in office, any office, but hope that it will show that not everyone is content with the two party system. Chances are pretty good that I will do the same this year. So I probably won't be voting Kerry or Bush. That being said, I'm rather hoping that this year the general concenses is that Bush is the lesser of the two evils.

If this affair thing doesn't kill Kerry, I hope that enough of the country sees how shifty he is and keeps him out of office.

The thinking behind some of you guys really kills me. If a man can't put his wife first, then how can he be faithful to his countrymen? Not that W is the best President ever, but I know for a fact he has no girlfriends.

I agree Frank S., a man who can not honor his wife/family can not be trusted. A man willing to break sacred vows has shown a willingness to be compromised. The constituent would mean nothing to that kind of a so called leader.
