Cool Coming to America

Alrighty then. Road Trip Alert.

I'm going to be working in Houston for a few weeks from the end of Feb.
Then home for a bit then back in April till the big Oil Show (OTC at Reliant Park)
Then, I get to drive one of our new trucks up to Edmonton for another show and tour customers through the US on the way back down.

And get paid!!!

I have been in the Oil Industry for the last 20 years.
Anyone else going to the OTC 2004? Probably the biggest Oil Show in the world. Information can be found at www.otcnet.org

I'll be there with our new Logging Truck I am helping to develop.
3D rendition below because the new body isn't molded yet.
I just had 2 days at a Test Track near Eindhoven putting the prototype through testing. Pretty cool. We had it round a banked oval, offroad, bad surfaces, everything you can think of.
Anyone want to see pictures?

Going to Red Deer too. Probably mid-May.
J150 says it's -50. Can't be right, can it?

It was last week. I didn't catch the country wide forecast this week.

Yes, in Edmonton they get the Arctic winds coming down.

go to canada.com, (site owned by a large newspaper group) and check on edmonton local weather as supplied by the local Edmonton daily.

Red Deer in May should be warm. Its not too far from Edmonton.

heh i live in houston and my grandparents live in edmonton. hope you dont plan on doing a whole lot of site seeing in houston though, theres really not anything special here. when are you coming to houston? if its in march you can catch the rodeo, thats about the only good thing in houston.

in edmonton, be sure to check out the mall there. its HUGE! got an amusement park inside the mall, along with a submarine, small lake, its got everything.

btw in houston watch out for the lightrail

EnglishAdam, the company I work for makes high performance seals used in the oil and gas industry. we make seals for logging tools among other things. we make a lot of packers too. i'll probably be at OTC too. even if I'm not, several people from our company will.

We don't do logging, we manufacture the equipment.
I was a Logging Engineer till I worked for this company developing equipment. I am now a Special Projects Engineer which means that I get to help invent and test things. Cool.
The new truck is made from composite materials which is an industry first.
If it is sucessfull (and looks that way so far) we will be manufacturing them at our Houston plant. I will be back in April to get the 2nd one ready for the OTC.

Our company website is at http://www.asepgroup.com if anyone is interested.

We make all kinds of Wireline Units, Trucks, Masts, you name it, we do it.
