George Dubya's Resume, Quite A Read
Just found this
I have said before that I think the current trend of sending jobs overseas is overall not the end of the world I don't like it but I think it will correct itself in short order.
However for Bush to say that this is a good thing for the economy just makes no sense to me.

Bush report: Sending jobs overseas helps U.S.
By Seattle Times wire services
WASHINGTON — The movement of American factory jobs and white-collar work to other countries is part of a positive transformation that will enrich the U.S. economy over time, even if it causes short-term pain and dislocation, the Bush administration said yesterday.
The embrace of foreign "outsourcing," an accelerating trend that has contributed to U.S. job losses in recent years and has become an issue in the 2004 elections, is contained in the president's annual report to Congress on the U.S. economy.
"Outsourcing is just a new way of doing international trade," said N. Gregory Mankiw, chairman of Bush's Council of Economic Advisors, which prepared the report. "More things are tradable than were tradable in the past. And that's a good thing."
The report, which predicts the nation will reverse a three-year employment slide by creating 2.6 million jobs in 2004, is part of an effort by the administration to highlight signs that the recovery is picking up speed. Bush's economic stewardship has become a central issue in the presidential campaign.

I didnt want to start a whole new thread for this but the whole did Bush dodge the draft by joining the guard is...well crap.
A lot of people are saying that by joining the guard Bush got out of the war. I don't have the time to look up numbers, but I am sure over 30,000 guard soldiers where activated during the Vietnam war. In WWII many frontline units where Guard, and same in Korea and every other conflict since the start of the US. I am just really tired of everyone thinking the guard is the way out of not going to war.
I remember one day when I was explaining to one of my best friends, who happens to be a hippie-libbo about the reserves and he said, 'ooooh you took the p*ssy way out" I controlled my anger and told him it was more then he was doing. Sure enough I was activated a few months later.
Of course the other big thing is was he AWOL? When the guard isnt activated its papper work is very poor. I don't know what old W did but they wont be able to prove it one way or another (IMHO) I think we have all had enough of it so I belive the media should move on to something intresting.

First off, Bush was able to jump ahead of 200k applicants and was accepted into the National Guard the day he applied. He did not have to wait or go througha lottery the way everyone else did.
Second, the odds were on your side in the Guard as opposed to being drafted outright.
Third, Bush was trained to fly an obsolete plane that wasn't going to see further service in Vietnam by the time he joined.

Everyone here probably already knows my opinion on the subject:
I dislike both Bush and his politics. I think this country can do better than someone who has been arrested several times. I think we can do better than someone with a questionable military background and who supposedly had a cocaine habit. Why did the Republicans nominate Bush instead of a real war hero such as John McCain?
The fact is we seem to like to divisive candidates. What fun is living in America unless our politicians are busy trying to split the country into factions?
Oh well. Thomas Jefferson did feel that the people should overthrow the government every once in a while. Perhaps that's the goal?
