Built Ford Tough...and Nissan.....well isn't

was in the first accident of my life last night and i must say it was the scarriest experience of my life. to beat it all i was on the way to the funeral home for the services of one of my friends i lost in an accident earlier in the week. well i round this turn and see a car stuck on the side of the road and ppl waving so im thinkin they want me to stop and help them. well they were trying to stop me before i crested the hill because little did i know the hill was a solid sheet of ice. well as soon as i crested the hill it took off on me and the way the road was slanted is sent me straight towards their nissan sentra boom head on. damage to the truck: bent licence plate. damage to the nissian busted up hood, drives side headlight and corner light and when we backed his car up his bumper cover came off and stayed stuck to the front of my truck where the tow hook went through it. im just glad everyone was alright the vehicles come second after that.

Glad to hear nobody was hurt. And yes, it is a scary experience.

I had a similar experience with a Crown Vic. I put my front bumper into his trunk. I needed a new bumper, but he needed a complete rear end. These trucks are built well...

Ouch, yeah that's a real bummer. I was in an accident in November. I got rear ended by an Audi which slammed me into the BMW in front of me and the BMW into the Taurus in front of him. I believe the Audi and the Beamer were both totaled, and I didn't have a bit of body panel damage. Both bumpers were replaced as well as the tow hooks and the tow hitch, but none of the damage was at all obvious. I personally think the body shop raped the guys Ins. company.

Anyway glad to hear nobody was hurt, that's always the most important thing.

Same here,

Back in 99 when I had my 98 4x4 lariat we were doing some 4 wheeling in the snow and I topped this old mine road hill and my buddy was following me in his 4x4 s10 and he got stuck about half way so I waited and waited and he never did top out the hill.

So I turn and head back down the road and I find him stuck still tring to get up the hill sitting in a curve, well I hit ice and bump him head on 8 times lol i was knocking his s10 about 5 feet and then I would hit it again I was just sliding then I hit him and turned him sideways and hit him again and smashed his passenger side door, break the glass, mash his finder in and bend his bed.

On the last hit he finally gets turned back around and floors his truck and gets out of my way.

When I get to the bottom of the hill he is out shaking his head looking at his truck, and I was thinking to myself oh crap I bet my truck is destroyed, when I get out my license plate holder was gone and that was it.

We ended up puting a new door, working the fender and bed and repainting his truck and I got a new license plate braket.

The nissan isn't poorly built....it's just that the 5000lbs vehicle will always win against the 2500lbs vehicle

Exactly correct. It's simple physics.

I am glad everyone is okay wolf. Keep us posted on how things progress.

Or as Howie Long says, "Big truck beats little truck." (or in this case, little car)

Sounds like we should demand a recall of our faulty license frames.
