Car Fire!
Car Fire!
I was working today and someone came into my office and said there was a car smoking in the parking lot not too far from my truck. Sure enough, I went outside and it was billowing like mad. There was a minivan a few spots away from it, and then an empty space, then my baby. I hightailed it out there to get a quick glance of the flames coming out of the engine compartment and to get my screw the hell away from that mess!
While we were standing there, we heard a loud *FWOOOSH* sound like you hear in movies, I think that was when the fire spread from the interior to the engine compartment, because it looked like it started in the cabin. I was waiting for it to explode like in the movies, but no dice. Something exciting about watching cars burn, as long as they aren't ones you own
(FYI, it was a chevy. Figures!)

I experienced something close to that when I was working at a gas station. Mid - late 80 Escort pulls into my lot and parks nears the end of my 16 pumps. Smoke comming out from under the hood so I send a clerk out to see if the woman needs help. The clerk comes running back in yelling that the car is on fire! OH *****
I jump over the counter and tell my boss to call 911 I grab the extengusier...no that's not right...the red bottle that puts out fires
(I can't spell to save my life) anyway...
I pull the hood latch so I can at least get some under the hood and put it out then get the hood opened all the way and finish putting the fire out before the fire trucks got there.
That could have turned real ugly real fast.
Glad you had fun watching the car burn
