Wasn't really sure where to post this, since it isn't a question about my truck really...

I was just curious if anyone knows if powder coating can be done with anything but a gloss finish. I was thinking about having some trim pieces and maybe even a dash powder coated, but I want a matte finish, no gloss. Any chance I can get the durability of powder coat, or do I need to talk to a good painter/body shop?

Yes, it can be done with a mat/flat finish.
Call your local Powdercoat shop and go look at some samples.
Virtually anything is possible.

Powder coatings are available in a variety of formulas... some of which are not that durable. Make sure you get one with a urethane rating for abrasion resistance..... better yet, just get a catalysed urethane (2 or 3 part)....... it's what we used on our (hi-end) racing carts and it's the only thing that stayed on the frames a whole season.............

just rremeber that powder coating is done alot for industrial applications, the powder coating companies might not be good at car quality finishes. kind of like paint jobs, some will paint a car for $500 others will charge $5000, there is a difference.
