Yes, it is too much. A truck with 86,000 miles will be sold "AS IS", meaning that everything is your responsibility as soon as you sign the papers.

I don't think you should buy such a truck from a dealer. The dealer would have paid about $6000-7000 for that truck and all they need to do is put it on the lot.

Buy a vehicle that has a used car warranty under NE state law or buy from a private seller.

$8-9k would probably be fair...and that would be after an inspection from a reputable shop.

Thanks for the replies guys. I ended up with a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. All the options, heated leather, 6 disc.

http://www.getauto.com/cardetail.htm...GW68N5XC800697

Got them down to $14250. Financed at 6.9%. $2500 down payments are $284

My brother has his dealers license and we went to the Omaha Auto Auction before we even looked at any dealers. They had one 2002 Grand Cherokee Limited. It was silver, whoever owned it was neglagent. Roof lining was torn up, console beat in, the deck was gone as well as the 6disc changer. Tires were bald and brakes were bad.

Since we know what auction vehicles bring I felt I did good with the dealer considering he has to make a living as well. It was also less of a hassle. The jeep i bought is immaculant. Not a scratch, dent or anything.

thanks again fellas

It's probably just a giant lot, there are hundreds and hundreds of trucks, not parked on concrete, not covered, sometimes they sit out there for months.

It's not worth it to wash those trucks until someone buys it. And they might not even do that.

I got my truck from a similar place.
