What's your thoughts/opinions? Seems like NASCAR has gone ultra-cheese to me.

why don't they simply have a bonus for winning? Something like an extra 50 points or whatever. They could even extend the bonus points through the top 10 finishers in the race. 50 for the winner, 45 for second, 40 for third, etc. That way consistency still pays off.

Use the now old points system, give 5 points for getting the pole and 5 more for winning races. The new system sucks.

Where to start?

Nextel Cup?Dropping traditional smaller tracks? Moving the Winston out of Charlotte? Having to be part of a "stable" of drivers in order to be competitive? Having to have a ga-zillion dollars to run a "stable" of cars? Drivers having an agent? (thanks Jeff Gordon) A truck series? Toyotas being allowed in the truck series? Having to have a master's degree in computer engineering and analysis in order to figure out every freaking parameter of every freaking dimension for every freaking inch of the track so you can take a "guess" at setting up the car?
Restrictor plates? And now this stupid points system?

It's so complex now that they might as well take all the quarterpanels off and call it the North American Indy Series.

feh!
