Those chains and big hooks is what wrecker drivers use to attach to the axles for towing.

Yes he could be that high if he hit something just before the mobile home and became airborne.

Yup, those are the retrieval hooks from a wrecker, most likely a flatbed.

I'm guessing that he had one of those recalled throttle by wire glitches as he was heading up an inclined driveway. The computer calls for WOT, he launches, and the rest is just physics at work? It could happen ..................

PORT ST. JOHN -- A night of drinking ended badly for a couple riding in a pickup -- and for the homeowner whose house they drove through.

The driver and his topless female passenger crashed through the house early Thursday and landed in a backyard pool, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Robert Todd, Jr., 30, had been drinking before he lost control of his 1997 Chevrolet pickup about 2:30 a.m. on Stillwater Avenue in Port St. John.

The southbound truck failed to stop an intersection, careened across a yard at 4953 Bridge Road, crashed into the front of the house, barreled all the way through the structure and flew out the back, landing in the swimming pool, the FHP said.

The homeowner, Berrin Wise, who was not hurt, told troopers he was startled out of bed by a loud bang.

Rescuers said there was a strong odor of alcohol on Todd's breath and that of his passenger, April Kleinhenz, 24, who was not wearing a shirt when she was pulled from the wreckage.

Blood-alcohol reports on the couple were not available Thursday.

The victims, both Port St. John residents, were taken to Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, where they were being treated for serious injuries.

Police estimated the damage to Wise's home at $30,000.

No charges had been filed late Thursday while the investigation continued.
