Microsoft Outlook help ?

Anybody real good with Outlook? I'm trying to work around some other issues that I don't know all the details on for my boss' laptop, and in the mean time I need to find his Contacts info. I can't seem to find what file they're stored in. Any ideas, or where I might be able to find the answer online. Guess I could try MS' webiste, huh...?

He must have a non-std view configured in Outlook that you can't see the contacts.

Just go to "View" on the menu bar, and select "Folder List." His contact folder should appear; just click it to access.

I'm not sure, but it should be easy to figure out.

Just add a new contact, then search MY COMPUTER for files recently updated.
The file should be at or near the top of the list if sorted by MODIFIED DATE in descending order.

It may be in the .PST with inbox, calendar, etc or the .PAB.

If you are able to get into Outlook, you could also Export the contacts to a separate file.

Click File, Import and Export...

Well, here's the actual problem, after talking more with the boss, and looking around on his laptop. It appears something has happened to his profile (administrator). He no longer has any of "his" info, programs etc. Each program he opens asks if he wants to set up or configure, and Outlook is empty...

I'm not too good in this area...

Let me guess, you boss is clueless about PCs and yet he's the administrator on the local machine? Serves him (or whoever set it up, right. NEVER let the user be the administrator if you want any kind of security at all.

If he deleted the admin profile, Windoz should recreate it when he logs in again (assuming he knows the correct password, etc).

So, there must be something else wrong.

Is his Outlook on the local machine or is he connecting to an MS Exchange server?

There is also a glitch in one of the Windoz Service Packs (3?) that can cause problems with the MS installer service, where every time you run one of the MS Office apps, it says it needs reinstalling, and to insert the CD. Of course, this doesn't work, but if you go to the MS web site and search, you will find a solution (happened to me a while back).
