Anybody know anything about the Ford FR-100?

There is a poster for it, but I think that's a concept that I missed! It looks like it has potential to be bad-A$$, too. Where can I find out more about this?

There was also a feature article in Classic Trucks March 2003 edition which had a lot of nice "under construction" pics.

I have not tried it but you can maybe go to www.classictrucksweb.com and filch the article out of their archives. I clipped the article pages from the magazine for my "Sweet Rides" file which has gotten so big over the last 40 years or so that I would have to have Bill Gate's bank account to attempt to even try and duplicatesome of the things I think are neat.

Jeez, what year is it, 1953? Looks just like that new 'old' Chevy.

All three are 1953 models according to the articles. Two pickups and one panel.

Like it or not, I think we are going to see a lot more retromobiles in the next few years.

It will start to make the less-modern, 'uncool' cars, suddenly become 'hip.'

I say let them build it, and sell it to the masses. I would be first in line at my local dealer.

I think you will find that Ford have no intention of building these vehicles for regular production.
This truck along with a Focus and a 65 Mustang are being built to showcase Ford Racing Performance parts new crate DOHC 5.0 engine.
This is a bored out (94mm) 4.6 Mod motor and will be available with either a blower, single 4 bbl or Quad Weber carbs. Groovy!
I daresay that if they got enough interest like Chrysler had with the Prowler, they may build them but I doubt it.

Well Adam I for sure agree that they would never see the light of day the way McLaren built them. Must have cost $150-200K apiece what with Nascar type one off frames etc.

While on the subject of Retro, and this is a walk on the wild side, I wish someone would do a rego of the 1100cc Fiat Abarth Zagato or even the 750 Fiat Abarth based off the 600 sedan.
My first new car was a 1959 600 to which I added the Abarth exhaust and a mild carb upgrade. I could not afford the neat side draft Weber setup as I was still going to University at the time.
Even so, it was a real VW Beetle /Morris Minor eater and except for handling could stay with the odd Sprite up to about 45-50 if they were stock which not many in Southern Calif. were in those days. And those teeny teeny tires, Geez scares me to even think about them nowadays.
