This is for the 97-03 years. If you want auto lights all you have to do is buy the switch and either cut holes above the sensor or but the dash piece that already has them cut out. I would say it would only cost $20 more a vehicle if they made tham all that way. The sensor and wiring is all there and connected. They just didn't add the switch and make the holes. The sensor is on the drivers side of the dish piece on the top of the dash.

They sold appx 800,000 last year.
800,000 x $20 = 16 million dollars, and that's just one switch.
Find thirty other small items that were just barely left off and we are talking about some serious money
(unless you are a republican)

 

But then they could have jacked up the price for each one item they added by 100 dollars and they would have made some serious money.
