i have some cattle and im pretty nervous about what might happen. if the price drops like it did in canada, then i might be a little hungry for a while. the price in canada dropped to .17 per pound, which would probably be .10-.12 per pound here. i typically get $2-$3 per pound. if they find the disease in more places, i dunno what will happen. right now i dont think they will order cattle to be killed anywhere around texas but i hope it doesnt happen. im not worried about anything like that. right now they dont even know if it was mad cow disease for sure. they sent samples to the UK to be tested. if it is, then hopefully they caught it fast enough before it spread. fortunately humans can only get it by eating soft tissue like brains. if the disease has spread, then im sure there will be ordered slaughtering, in the area first, then expanding. just hope it doesnt reach the UKs number, which is 3.7 million cattle killed. like one of the best experts around said, "your more likely to be run over by a car INSIDE the supermarket than eat infected beef"

Maybe it was on the menu during the last Democrat Presidential debate? Think someone sent Hillary leftovers?

The price dropped in Canada?
How come the price drop doesnt extend to the consumer at the grocery store level?

I remember the lone case we had of mad cow, and I also remember hearing about prices dropping, but I've never seen it!

because the stores want to take advantage of the situation and make more money. that is why you dont see the price drop. it mainly affects the farmers who sell the cattle
