It was actually Jessica Lynch that got Saddam.
I read the story last Sunday morning about the Kurds catching Saddam and bartering for political favor. It may or may not have credit. The story appeared on the AFD website but their initial source is the Sunday Express, which is somewhat of a tabloid magazine.
There is however, some eveidence that supports the account of Kurdish forces capturing him: Every report quoted very early on of his capture was attrubuted to Kurdish sources.
I havn't seen any other reports so it may or not have merit. I hope it's not true. If it is, that does a lot of harm to our troops because they have clearly taken credit for it and given great detail as to how they tracked him down.
I don't think this is a story that any reported wants to break. I sure hope that a video tape doesn't surface. That would do more harm to our soldiers than it would to any politician.
