new to the board, 98 5.4L 1/4 mile??

Hello all,

I'm a new owner of the truck in the sig, just got it a few days ago. I do own a decently quick camaro, and my friends are trying to get me to run the f150 at the track . I told them I'll race his accord or something,

So, what can the beast put up in the 1/4, anyone run a stock 97-98 5.4L supercab at the track??

Welcome!

I ran a 16.800 in my 4x4 supercab this summer.
I know I can do better next time because:

Excuse list:

- Truck was loaded to the nuts with camping gear
- I had a full tank and hard tonneau was on
- I'm a moron who doesn't know how to drag race
- it was hot out
- my leg was itchy and when I used my other foot to scratch it, I lost acceleration for a split second.
- was my first time
- I have more excuses, but these will suffice for now.

I do have my time-slip in case someone wants to raise the BS flag
(I just can't seem to find it right this second)

16's for a fullsize isn't bad, I'll take it .
I plan to keep the ford stock though, except for maybe for grill guards, want to keep it reliable, good mpg(measured mine at 18 city, can't complain), and clean. I love the truck though,

As far as my camaro, back before the rear end blew to pieces when I dumped it with slicks with my new clutch it clocked a best time of 11.6 on a 150hp shot of nitrous oxide. NA it was around 13 flat.
I bought a stock rear for the car to drive it around for $150 now, but with the weak GM 10 bolt i will NOT race it until I buy a new strange or moser 12 bolt axle, but they retail for about 2 grand for that, so I'll prob wait until I pay off the truck. For right now i just take the maro out and juice it up from a roll sometimes, but thats about it.

merry christmas :santa:

i did the same thing , sheared the ring gear on my 89 firebird (9 bolt rear end) i want to get a a 9" ford (i put the stock 3.27 gear in and the car actually went faster). i had my car running really good until i lost an injector about a month ago, it filled up the cylinder with gas, hydrauliced the cylinder and bent the rod. now my big desision is to either rebuild the 383 with low compression and put on a vortech or to get a 400 block and build a 420 and kept running nitrouis. I like the vortech idea a little better.

Before I got my L, I had and still have a 2000 F150 4x4 Supercab with the Off-Road package, 5.4L, and 3.55's front and rear....I raced it several times in the quarter, and the best I could get out of it was a 16.05 at 85 mph...That was with a conical K&N filter, and a flowmaster exhaust....Obviously no speed demon, but none the less I love that truck anyway because it will go anywhere, pretty go through any snow storm, and has given me 84000 trouble free miles already....
