driving both cars the S55 definitely felt quicker. Hp-wise they are both rated at 493, however the S600 has more torque. The transmission in the S55 responds immediately and downshifts very quickly when you hit the gas. The S600 response is smoother and slower.
Also, the wild sound of the S55 engine gives you the impression of being in a faster car IMO. The S600 is silent. Once the turbos kick in, you just feel this massive torque pushing you back in your seat.
Either car is excellent. The S600 cost around 20K more though.
After driving them both, I had a very hard time wiping the grin of my face. I'll post some pics of the car monday. The L is going to need a few more mods

Then why does he say its a twin turbo
Trending Topics
The twin turbo V12 is in the CL65 and the soon to be on the market S65. Very rare. In the CL it produces something like 634hp and 730ft/lb of torque. MB actually had to detune the thing because it was eating through trany's.
but, the SL650 will be the AMG version, boost goes to 1.2 from 0.8 bar and stiffer suspension, sharper shifting: 604 hp, 738 lb.ft.
I think you will be hearing the traction control working almost constantly.
The SL600 weighs 4429 lbs.

Just an FYI, but the CL65 and the S65 (dont know if a SL65 will be made) runs 1.5 bars of boost(22psi).
