Who has experiance with a 4-link??

I recently bought a 9" rear for my 73 mach, the axel came out of a truck so it needs to be narrowed 4 inches to fit the leaf springs. I would like to go narrower yet for some more tire. So I want to put in a 4 link. I know that I will need a frame of some sort to do this. Would welding a frame to the front spring area and to the rear pinch weld be sturdy enough?? Or should I try for a third location about halfway back. I would like to keep the car as light as possiable yet not worry about breakage. What would be the best materials to use (box or round) how big?? Any help would be appriated. Cody

That was some intresting stuff that you posted, it is sure to come in handy. The car is white with a black hood and the black mach stripes.
