Bush is going to ride this like a ****ing tsunami. But it's too soon to say what effect this will have overall on the situation in Iraq.

This is great news.

I wonder what kind of justice he will face.
American court, Iraqi court, the Hague?
Will be interesting to see events unfold.

It looks as though the Iraqi's get to try him after we're done with the interrogations. I'm disappointed that we won't get to pull his finger nails out, break bones, etc. But I think it makes sense morally and logically that the people he was so cruel to get to control him and decide his fate.

I like the chipper idea. It should be done a little bit at a time though. Maybe feed him his own shredded limbs for a few weeks

Smile

I wonder if GW has a soundproof room for situations like this. I bet he screamed and laughed and jumped up and down for an hour afterwards Saddam should be tried, convicted, then shot. Preferably in sight of the Iraqi people, so they know it's actually over.,,,,98

Exactly!!! This doesn't need to be a political thread. No one is going to say that the capture of Saddam is a bad thing.

Personally I think this is better then finding the WMD’s. Everyone knows that Saddam had WMD’s, but anyhow capturing Saddam, in my opinion, will greatly help move forward the people of Iraq.

I think many were holding back due to Saddam being free and wondering around. Many of those people did not want to do much in fear that Saddam may one day return and then the payback would have been hell.

We all remember what happen the last time there when we tried to get the people to up rise and then kind of left them to fend for themselves and thousands were slaughtered.

Hopefully he will be tried and put to death. I think as long as he is alive some of the people that could greatly help us may hold back.

This is a political thread because it has to do with Iraq and Saddam. The liberals turned this war into a political agenda. Since the economy is no longer an agenda for them due to the tax cuts bringing back the economy they began using Iraq as the agenda and not finding Saddam was top on their list.

This is another GREAT day for America and another bad day for the far left liberals which includes all 9 Presidential candidates. I think the one who will get hurt the worst is Dean. He was the one running around talking about pulling everyone out of Iraq.

That would have left Saddam to return, tens of thousands of people to be slaughtered again and an even more dangerous threat to the world.

Good job to President Bush and his troops now maybe the far left liberals will SHUT UP since everything they spew has been proven false and will continue to be proven false…

I bet Bin Laden is chitting his pants now that we got his buddy…

Not to soon at all. This will be an absolute positive effect on Iraq. Nothing could have happen that would have been more positive for Iraq and its people. Saddam was the one person holding the rest of the country down for years through intimidation.

Since he has now been caught and after he is put to death the intimidation is gone.

It’s a great day for America and an AWESOME day for Iraq because it is a win-win situation. Nothing but positive things can happen with the capture of Saddam so long as he is put to death after his court date and after he gives up information on Bin Laden his close buddy.

I predict the short term effect will be several people killed or wounded by falliing bullets. I'll never understand the shoot in the air mentality I guess:o,,,,98
