Unemployement is like $250.00 a week. Anyone and I mean anyone who wants to works can go out and find a job paying that much.
I got word last week that I am losing my job of 5 years at the end of the year. I have my first interview today...in fact in just a few minutes I'm leaving to go for it...first one in 5 years so I'm a bit nervous...

But I digress IF a job that pays more than unemployement cannot be found then it might be time to move...or one could start their own business...making morethan $250 a week should not be too hard to do.

Stan

BTW this post IMO...not so humble but still my O

Unemployment here in NY is a max of 405.00 dollars a week and it all depends on your working income before losing your job asa to how much you will get. 250.00 a week "clear" for some folks (like young people) can be a real challange around here.

I hope you did well at your interview and all works out well.

I tried to sign up for unemployment when I lost my last job. I was only going to get paid $231 every two weeks. I got the first check and then they denied me my claim and now want that check that they sent me back. They are a bunch of screwed up people. They should have never sent me that first check until I had either been approved or not approved. And everytime I tried to contact them, their phones were out of order or they gave me some BS.

I would rather starve than to sign up for unemployment again.

80+ Billion to Iraq is good business with possible good returns on that investment. 400+ Billion for free drugs is NOT good business, no return and most likely more begging will come for more free things.

Unemployment has already been extended once or twice. Either those on unemployment don't want to work or are just plain lazy or both, so screw them. If they starve they do so because that is their OWN choice...

Last time I remember everone has the choice to work or not.

WASHINGTON - Citing the improving economy, Republicans decided Monday against extending federal unemployment benefits before Congress leaves for the year. Democrats said it would mean a joyless Christmas for tens of thousands of jobless Americans.

"It's almost inconceivable to me that Republican leaders are poised to play the Grinch again," said House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of California

Relax Nancy, the republicans did not throw these people out of work nor have they kept them locked in their homes so they could not go look for work.

No, my little liberal friend, it is not the Republicans who are the Grinches, it is those who decide to sit on their *** at home looking for handouts who will spoil their own Christmas. They have made the choice now they must accept it. It is called personal responsibility and for those with children it is called child abuse to sit at home on their *** waiting for us working people to feed their children.

Liberals are such funny little creatures, like domesticated animals waiting for their masters to feed them and give them water everyday. It would be nice if every person in America decide to play along with their fun little games of taking from those who work to give to those who are lazy and have no responsibilities.

Could you imagine that? Who the hell would be providing all the food, medical, dental and money? Not the government since they have no money of their own. Not from tax payers since we would all be sitting at home waiting on our free food, medical, dental and money…
