What a day!
What a day!
Ok I have a small list of things to do, and at the top is an oil change. I can't believe I've gone 5k miles already! Two payments, and 5k? Damn it, someone must be driving it while I am sleeping! Actually I think it's that extra work I did for my buddy which puts on at least a hundred miles at a time. Hey, it paid for my Permatech bedliner.
I called the salesperson yesterday to let him know I was comming in for my first (and free) oil change. Asked if I needed an appointment, ect. I know it will be boring waiting, so I brought my Office Max rebate forms with me to fill out.
So I get there, and drive it in, then removed my antenna, which scraped their door a bit on the way in. One guy looked at the bed with the matching Blue Permatech spray in liner, and said "hey, that's cool what is that?" Another said "It's a Rhino" I said "Rhino doesn't do that. It's a Permatech" Then they all took a closer look. (you could almost hear the angels singing)
I told the guy it needed an oil change (mentioned first one's free) and that the seat had a tiny flaw in the stitching that was fast becomming a HUGE one. He agreed when he saw it. I signed the papers and proceded to the holdi . . I mean waiting area.
Then I remembered that I had told Anthony (the salesperson) that I had recently gotten a DVD player for $28 at sears a month ago, and that they would probably have it for that price again, and I would let him know if they did. (I was at Sears getting half price Craftsman tools when I called him) Today the Sat only sale ad came out with another $29 (after $5 rebate) DVD player so I brought the ad to his desk.
He showed me his new toy (95 caddy in mint cond). Then he took a call, so I started filling out my rebate forms. I told him if he needed his desk, just say so, but he was like, Naw you can stay, so I proceded to fill out all the stupid forms, and then copyed my UPCs and receipts on their machine. (saving me a trip to the office because my scanner isn't hooked up yet.)
Meanwhile he gave me a quick flip style spec sheet with all the Ford Truck details (COOL) and a address book from the body shop. Nothing like a little Ford stuff is there?
By the time I was done, the Truck was done, and new seat cover ordered, so I got my Permatech receipt out and copyed the part with the company name and address on it for him.
Now I challenge anyone to tell me they had a better time at a dealership with their clothes on!
I bet you all thought I was going to bitch about the dealer didn't you?
That wasn't all. After that, I went to the famed Credit Union , to make a deposit, and asked them if I owed anything on the old 98 F150 account. She told me it was closed. I told her my credit report said there was $68 dollars owed on it. She looked again, and told me that the last payment was made on Nov 20th. I asked her where the payment came from, and it turned out my Ex payed it. COOL. I made sure my name wasn't on the account anymore, then went to change my CC numbers there, just to be sure that card dosen't get abused like the one at TCF did. They shredded (something they like to do if you read my thread on them) the card on the spot, and will mail me another one.
WOW two down with a bonus (rebate forms) and one to go.
I went to the Sec of state to renew the plate and my license early. License wasn't mysteriously suspended or anything, ('nother long story) and I was out of there in 5 mintutes.
When I got home, I got something in the mail from Ford. It's a HUGE brochure that when unfolded, is poster sized pics of Fords!!!
and in it is a $50 Cabelas gift cert, for which I only have to test drive a 04 F150, (that'll be hard) have the dealer sign it, (tough again) and wham, $50 to spend!!
Later I logged in to TCF to find I had money in there again. The charges are still there, but the money is too. So I guess that is on it's way to getting fixed.
Damn it what a day!
and then I woke up.
Naw it's all true.
Somedays you're the windsheild (mine broke the first week I had the Truck) and some days you're the bug.
Today I was the windsheild. All Day!

You'd better run out & play the lottery ATST!
A good experience with the dealership and a quick trip to both the motor vehicle and credit union in one day, WOW! You've probably used up all your good luck for the next two weeks. Glad it went well though, you deserve a good day once in a while.

Cool
I'm glad you had a nice day for once
I got three huge poster books from Ford, and I also got the $50 Cabelas thing, one of the Salesmen signed it when I got there so I didn't have to test drive the truck (not real interested in an 04 after just buying the 03, and might as well save them the time and money, as well as the gas.)
