I'm offended.

The implication is that only America has ever had slaves.

There have been slaves in almost every culture with slaves of all colors and religions.

Its a fact of life people. In fact, slavery still exists in the world today.

So before saying "its offensive" maybe we should keep the terms to remind people that the issue still exists.

Oh good lord...

Yes, African Americans (and many other races) were discriminated against but, I'd say it's time for us as Americans to try to start the healing process rather than keeping salt at hand every time someone gets a wound.

This world just gets more insane everyday! I would like to see as much energy, time and money spent on real problems as we do on these trivial matters.

If we don't say it, the problem will go away

I especially liked this part:

"In June, the Los Angeles city council unanimously passed a law requiring that any companies doing business with the city disclose profits they may have made from slavery in the 19th Century. In 2000, the council supported federal legislation seeking reparations for descendants of slaves."

My brother was having problems with his brakes. We determined what the problem was and replaced his:

'commanding, head of household, presiding, conqueror, dominating cylinder'

Speaking as a liberal with a brain...that is f*ing ridiculous. Whats next? Is someone going to be offended about "male" and "female" connectors or couplers because it isnt sensitive to homosexuals?

Or what about those "bungholes" in tanks and drums huh?
