My first bike was a 2001 Honda Shadow Sabre, I liked it alot but I upgraded after a few months to a 2000 Honda Valkyrie Tourer.

I love the Valkyrie. I am going to keep it and buy a Harley Fat Boy once my divorce is final.

I'd love to have a Ducati Monster 900, but I don't my kids to get too comfortable around street bikes
no better rides then the ones you take with your kids. my oldest now rides his own on the street and my youngest is riding dirt and can't wait to ride street with me. he has been all the way from wis to north carolina on the bike with me, more then once.
teach 'em young and teach 'em right and there's nothing to worry about. (relatively, yes bikes still carry an inherent danger)
when the youngest turns 18 we're planning a cross country ride all together. how many other peoples kids plan trips with the old people?

I have an 84 Honda Shadow 500 wich I purchased this year as my first bike.I think it is a great starter bike but it is on the small side for me.I'm sure I'll hang on to it since it is my first bike but will be uprading in the next two years.
