SD/MMC and Memory Stick

I'm just curious, Are they the same thing? What makes them different?

If they are different, will a SD/MMC fit into a Memory Stick slot?

Memory Stick is a Sony product (patented).

SD - Not sure...

MMC - I'm assuming multi-media card... again.. not sure...

and, as you have mentioned, I'm too lazy to go and look.

go to www.officedepot.com and get one of these:

http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?...2011_SK_509069

sometimes you can go to www.ecoupons.com and get a $5 - $20 off coupon.

(the card reader i posted doesn't work with XD, but i'm sure that theres an all-in-one out there that does)

i have one of the memorex card readers, and my HP photosmart 7550 printer has one built in as well..

yeah Im running XP, all I would need is one that allows me to use the SD/MMC, because I have a sony vaio at home, so I don't need the MemoryStick reader.

I mean I could spend $100 kodak 3.2mp or $400 3.2mp sony.

i'd get the sony, but i'm biased...

i have a $1000 sony digital video camera (DCR-TRV730)
and a $500 sony 5.0 megapixel digital camera (DSC-P92)

and tons of accessories to go with them.

(i also have a lot of sony electronics in the house.. i'm about to go order my 51" sony widescreen hdtv too.)

you can get the P92 for around $300 now on the internet..

one bit of advice i have to offer.

"You get what you pay for"

(grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, I hate pressing the back button)

anyways, I listed all of the sony products I have, including my computer, but walmart on black friday will have a $100 3.2mp Kodak on sale. So I figured I would hit that up, because I'm going to be taking "Photography w/ Digital Camra" at BCC(local community college) so I figured what the hell

LGJ,

I got opinions from 6 people here at work before buying my digital camera. All 6 of them had Kodaks and were very happy with them. These guys ranged from "uber-gadget freak" to "new dad" to "hardware engineer" to "Mr Average".

I ended up getting a 4.0mp Kodak DX4900 off of ebay with 3 sets of rechargeable batteries, a 64mb memory card and a 16mb card all for around $200 (which, I guess now that I think about it, is a lot more than your price of $100 )

Anyway, some of Kodak's DX line has been discontinued (like the DX4900) so you can find some of their higher end cameras relatively cheap on ebay now.

chknbone

PS - the picture I had of my kid standing in front of my truck with the smirk on his face was done with that DX4900.

Great. I'm going to end up with the Kodak, because of limited amount of money, and I can't just spend it where I want. I've been wanting a digital camera, that way I can stop taking pics with my digital camcorder

Anyways, thanks for the help everyone

a little help for you joe.. before clicking the "submit reply" button, highlight your reply & copy it, so that if you get an error, and your post disappears, you can past it back again without having to type it over.
